steel is just superheated iron, the coal is used to raise the temperature of the furnace. the reason a blast furnace does not need as much coal is because the oxygen pumped into the furnace fuels the flames increasing their intensity. While iron isn't made of iron and coal, the RS recipe for steel is spot-on.

Runescape takes almost no time. I used to play a lot, then I started playing wow. By the time I came back, most of my friends were gone, so I only really play to see the friends that are still playing. I've gotten bored of WoW now as well, so I think that if the new open pvp worlds on RS are any good, or if the new xpac for WoW is, I'll play. Otherwise that'll be it for MMO's for me. I don't use the desktop client, however, my game time can be summed up here: http://www.xfire.com/profile/psizovrak282/ I have my brother's Wii now that he's left for university, so I'll occasionally play wiisports/GH3, but I rarely play console games.

Barrows is too expensive for me, I don't really have a clue how to make a good amount of money beyond flax/pure ess, so I couldn't afford paying to repair it constantly. I can probably just g/e the fighter torso, I did barbarian assault when it came out, killed the queen several times, so I can wear the torso. Zerker helm sounds good, as do the boots. However, barrows is out of my price range.

That's 3.6 million dollars a year they lost. They will be profiting by 7.6m when people have to pay the new rate, but A) American dollar sucks B) People will have to be cahrged the new rate gradually, over time.

I've been thinking about coming back to members from f2p again, and this poses the question. It seems all I kept was my rune defender, so I have a LOT of things to catch up on. So far, I've thought of: Treasure Trails items (map/sextant/watch) Salve amulet ectophial (dreading the morytania walk :P) glarial's amulet law talisman dueling ring EDIT: games necklace fighter torso dragon helm/skirt legends cape boots of lightness dramen staff(s) family chest gauntlets ghostspeak amulet (I know it's not members) god cape pendant of armadyl Does anyone else have ideas on what I should be getting when I get members again?

To all these people commending the Tal Shiar alliance, I give them my props as well. Some real interesting stuff comes up at the end of the articles. I can remember seeing them a LONG time ago, right when clan wars came out, advertising to get people to join :P. I was with 20 or so people in a 90+ clan, and we cleaned them out. I had no idea they were such a big tip.it clan! The only part of this (these) articles that makes me sad is that it makes me recall some of my old friends. I never really got in touch with them, and they never log on again. I'll always wonder what happened. EDIT: I realize I have to change my signature now that the bank has been severely updated :P

Clan wars was the way that I went out too. I came back to RS from a break for clan wars, raced a friend I met there to 100 combat, then stopped playing. I would have loved to have kept playing if my friends had stayed. Possibly my best friend quit while I was taking a break in 2007, and I never know what happened to them, never got the chance to keep in touch. Just make sure, for those of your friends who don't use these forums, to tell them where you're going. Otherwise they'll probably always wonder what happened to you.

ALL the animations of dying monsters are just annoying - they simply slow down the already tedious grinding process. The worst part about the immaturity issue is that they don't allow kids under 13 to create an account (apparently) but yet they are marketing to those kids in the first place.

on the PMing for tutorial island, if you set it to split private chat, AND have talked to the monk/community officer, you are able to PM - he makes your friends and ignore list appear

The dungeon where you mine blurite, more commonly used for ice giants, is actually right beside the underwater part of runescape! Go as far west as you can in the mugger area, and rotate the camera a bit. to the south is what looks like a desert area, but if you rotate it properly, you can examine a type of coral! as well, you can see the dungeon used in the digsite quest (with the ancient magicks symbol) from the south-east varrock sewers. As well, in the underground pass quest, when you kill the unicorn, it transports you to an entirely seperate room! The rooms also happen to be right beside eachother - try doing this with a friend who hasn't done the quest yet, you will be able to talk through the walls

Well, out there to anybody who's ever had members, or even so, in reality, getting 400 bank spaces is a one-time fee of $5.00... or $7.30. You simply get double of all the items that you'll need in f2p, and hey, you'll get to enjoy members for a little while. While this isn't practical, and getting two of everything may seem hard, it isn't.

A rather pathetic goal really, but I set some goals to get before november, when i will have members back. I would like suggestions on any or all of these skills: Mining (From 68-70) Ranged (From 56-60) Combat (From 88 to 90) Thanks EDIT I'd like to note i'm doing these on non-members, incase you couldn't figure that out...
