That stinks, but Omali has a good point. The game has really gotten better. (If you're looking on the bright side of things, and if your not dwelling on the small, dull things. :P )

It's only a bit more, and it's only fair since they haven't increased their prices over the last few years, while there was a certain inflation going on. Nothing to really rant about imo.

They had to raise prices because they lost a lot of people, also the value of the American dollar is going down.

After wildereness removal they lost 60K memberships (official number) Considering they still report over 1 million members this is less that 6%.. How is that "a lot of people"?

Do you know what inflation is? It's a miracle that JaGEx hasn't increased the fee earlier.

Part of the problem is that i'm saving up for Spore and I can't really afford to renew my subscription now.

The world is not run on credit cards. Sometimes it's actually better to just use cash.

Not really. Just buy like 60 days of membership with the card so you have plenty of time.

 

 

 

To the OP, that sucks, and while it is only a dollar more per month, that does add up over time, even if not much.

if your quick you can go to your local wal-mart or a store that specializes in video games and buy a $20 (i think that's the only ammount) card for runescape.

 

 

 

my only question is are they going to increase the ammount of money on those cards later, 20 bucks gets you 4 months of membership on the old rates but only 3 with some coins left over using the new subscription rates (rough estimate, but it stinks having un-usable cash on a card :x ).

Due to inflation, the actual cost of membership is only very slightly higher than what it originally was. It's just gone down slowly over the years and readjusted itself back to normal again. It isn't some kind of evil scheme to cheat us out of our money. ;)

A simple $5 increased to $5.95? Sounds like an omen. Runescape is becoming more corporate.

If you think about it, eventually everyone will have to pay the new price won't they? It's just sheer bad luck you have to pay it before us all :D
