First off, earplugs don't really work second, I stated it wasn't the loudness of the music, sorry if that wasn't clear in my post. It just sounds so distorted =\

 

Uh...could you try to explain how earplugs "don't really work"? Because that's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard haha. Earplugs filter out all the unnecessary overtones and give you a better sound quality from up close. What you heard from a mile away at the Marilyn Manson concert is what you would hear (albeit to a lesser extent) up close with ear plugs. I was just at a VERY loud and energetic concert in a small venue and earplugs made the show very much enjoyable for me.

OK fine, in my experience, ear plugs don't work. It just sounds muffled, but no less distorted. Ofc I am only using dollar store brand that may be why.

Earplugs are worth it in my experience, depending on the concert. Makes it so you can actually hear decently after the concert and not have that annoying muffled feeling.

I saw Death Cab last year in Belgium. It was in a forest, and in the forest they had this open air hall where they played. The music was pretty good, but I didn't think of it as a lifechanging experience, I kind of expected a little bit more to be honest.

The trouble with local shows is the sound setup in the venues is generally terrible, so the band just turn everything to 11 and try to drown out the awful system.

 

 

 

Never bothered with earplugs, actually. Only band I would consider those for is My Bloody Valentine.

Like what? I hate concerts. I still do. The sound is still distorted. Earplugs still suck.

Different concerts are good for different people. Some people are freaked out by mosh pits and how close everyone is to eachother, but that's one of the best parts of concerts for me. Concerts where everyone is sitting down are lame.

I'm going to see Faith No More live early next year! Very excited that they're coming to Australia for the Soundwave tour.

I've never gone to anything that wasn't free with the price of admission to the Fair. That said, I have only seen a few country artists (Paul Brandt, Emerson Drive, etc.) but will be seeing Johnny Reid on Friday (the same deal, only cost is fair admission).

I had a friend go, and he said it was an amazing show. A small venue packed full of people, good music, and a crazy guy who was most likely tripping.

 

He's a big fan though, so who knows.
