Ads that actually work

I'm actually tempted into buying those Shamwow towels. Might work for all I know.

I think those kind of ads actually work, i've always wanted to buy some kind of product when it says it does something extraordinary, just to see if it actually works. :?

I watch barely any telly, and ablock plus is my friend, so the only real ads I see are at the cinema, and I've been going a lot recently...

So much so that I actually know the script for that godawful Orange advert with Rob Lowe. They really need to come up with another one already, that ones been on for about 3 months worth of films.

And the radio one ad gets on my nerves as well, because its just so damn LONG.

Big screen ads need to be something special, not just the TV ones, but longer.

What ads? You guys still get them? Tee Hee, the only ads I see are the ones on billboards. And I still watch TV, browse the net, and buy things - although not the big name brands... When they started putting ads on my pop, I went generic :)

I pay enough for my products - If you think you can make money by making me buy another product you tell me to, think again!

Although I do so dearly love when I buy a computer and it's got a bunch of trialware on it - I brutally remove them!

But one commercial from my childhood that sticks with me is the duracel ones, were they say that all sorts of people I respect use their batteries. I'd call that effective.

That's what it takes to be a hero, a little gem

of innocence inside of you that makes you want

to believe that there still exists a right and wrong,

that decency will somehow triumph in the end.

Don't. It's a huge scam that doesn't work at all. Although some people say they work. Majority say they don't though.

You had to see it coming. I mean come on! SHAMwow?

AGGFFPSSS... has anyone here actually purchased that MIGHTY PUTTY! that can supposedly pull that huge tractor trailer? Does it work?
No, but there are some imitation brands that work very well. I don't know about a fully loaded 90,000 pound tractor trailer though :?
Anything the Billy Mays advertises. His Encyclopedia Dramtica article is hilarious.

Watch that commercial carefully. Remember the part where he spills the soda onto the carpet? Well if you watch, the soda leaks out from under the carpet square. Then the camera cuts to a close up of the guy for a few seconds, then brings the carpet back into the picture. But wait, there's no soda leaking out from under the carpet anymore and the guy hasn't started soaking it up yet. I thought those towels looked interesting but I figured there had to be a problem with them, which is why I watched that commercial so intently.

You gotta hand it to Disney though, they know how to make money.

Yeah, by putting d*cks on their movie covers and sex in their films, subliminaly.

Oh you noticied that too?

Such as in the lion king when the monkey is holding simba up, you pause it and the dust spells out the 3 letter word for what mommies and daddies do. xD

(Or so The Da Vinci Code claims.)

Ads for movies are the only ones that get me. A good kind of ad, to get customers is one that says the name alot, and nags you to buy it.

"Head on, you just rub it on your forhead, Head on, you just rub it on your forhead, Head on, you just rub it on your forhead, Head on, you just rub it on your forhead." :twss:

It's called propaganda, Marketing and ad's use it ALOT!

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

Omg you beat me to the punch.

I love how he can make a living like that, just makes me lol.

And if there is a commercial that annoys the holy hell out of me, I will refuse to buy something from it.

Ex: Freecreditreport.stfu, Head-on, apply directly to the stfu, and that new circuit city commercial with rihanna and that stupid face that kids makes when he says "oh after you study of course *stupid face*"

And I hate people who advertise that don't need too. Like Mcdonalds needs to ever advertise. Who doesn't know them? :wall:

That's actually a viral/spyware infected site. I visited the page and then popups literally flooded my window, which is unusual because I have pop-up blockers already and all they did was install more spyware. Also I suspect there's a virus because now my windows keep closing for no reason.

Remove it. NO ONE VISIT THE SITE.

Haha, the Family Guy commercial For the Ed-Dorado Cigarette Company... "Mom, Wheres lassie?" "Smoke!" "I don't know son" "Smoke!" "Random Stuff" "Are You Smoking Yet?"

That is the best ad lol, but now seriousl. The best ads are Movie/game advertisements.
