Earbuds

So.. my iPod earbuds are in horrible condition (the outsides are broken, and of yesterday the right one rattles), so I need new ones. I don't know what to buy, so I figured I'd ask around here. I want earbuds, not headphones. And it is important that they're under $40. I know a ton that are like $60+, and that is too much.

I recently bought myself a pair of Etymotic er-6i. Really, really good. They have great sound isolation, and aside from lacking a little bit in the bass area (that can be fixed by just putting on bass boost or whatever on your MP3 player) they have really good quality sound.

I'm not understanding why you don't want in-ear earbuds though. All the good ones are in-ear.

Cool.

The reason I didn't want in-ear ones is because my personal experience is that they don't stay in very well. They're always slipping out of my ears, and I have to push them back in ever 10 seconds. I've only used skullkandy in-ear ones though, so others might not be like that. I don't know.

If skullkandy are the only ones that do that, I'd be fine with them. The only thing is that I usually talk to my friends with one earbud in my ear. And in-ear ones might make it hard to hear. (I guess I can always take them out when talking though.)

Intriguing:

I need base. Lol. If they don't have good base I won't buy them. Extra stress on need here. Turning up the base on my EQ just won't cut it. Thanks for the suggestion though :P

Do you have any idea how much those would be in USD? I don't know the conversion for other currencies. They seem to have fairly good reviews, and don't look to shabby.

I love the ignorance in the replies. He said that he DOES NOT want in-ear headphones. That includes "ear canal" headphones. Except maybe for the Fontopia headphones, every one suggested so far has been in-ear headphones. Think about the shape of standard iPod earphones. Those are what non-in-ear headphones look like. These are what in-ear headphones look like. Actually, if you read the pages you gave, each and every one said those headphones were in-ear, including Fontopia.

I have to agree with limp. Unless you really care about sound quality, which you seem not to since you were using the standard iPod headphones, then just grab a cheap pair at a local Best Buy, Future Shop, or whatever there is around you. I just got a pair of $15 earphones to replace my broken iPod ones, and there is no difference for me. They are Sony brand, that's all I know since I threw out the package already.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

That's because all the earphones worth more than $5 are in-ear. There's not much point in us giving recommendations for non-in-ear earphones, as they're all the same.

And the point is, his reason for not liking in-ear earphones is that they fall out too easy. While that is true for the in-ear ones that only stick in a little bit, it is not true for those that go into the ear-canal a bit further, such as those from Etymotic.

Anyway, Kill_Thomas9, I'd strongly recommend you get yourself a pair of Etymotic earphones. They are in-ear, but they form a sort of vacuum seal, and will not fall out if you put them in properly.

Cool.

I guess I could try another pair of those, seeing as the only one's I've tried are skullkandy, and they are very different (they look more like the apple in-ear canal headphones) than the ones intriguing linked. If everybody says those are better than just normal earbuds, then I guess I'll try them.

Unless I am mistaken, doesnt saging mean NOT bumping a topic?

OT: I find that in-ear phones work a LOT better than on-ear. i originally had Skullcandy ones, but they kept falling out, so I switched to some ones that go deeper into the ear canal. They work great.

So basically, you bumped to say not bump. Congratulations.

Anyways, I'd recommend the Bose ear buds that someone recommended above.

Go with Bose. I've had mine for over a year and I can honestly say that they're the best earbuds I've ever used. http://www.bose.com/controller?event=view_product_page_event&product=triport_ie_headphones_index

Is the bose site not working for anybody else? I've been trying to go there for the past few days, and the site won't load :wall:

I have these earbuds. I've had them since February and they still work great, they're really comfortable in my ears and probably won't fall out unless you grease your ears or something ;)

Nevermind... Don't get them. Mine just broke after only 7 months :(

Glad I didn't buy them, lol.

Why is it that all the good ear buds are $80+?
