When training in the SoS i often get a Surprise Exam random( about 2 a day). I usually use them on either Prayer or Runecrafting and i get about 855exp everytime. If i decide to use it for something like Ranged or HP, will i still only get 855exp or will i get more? Will the exp gained from lamps and books increase as my prayer and RC lvls go up, or will it stay the same?

The higher the level in the skill you choose the more exp you will receive.

IMHO, use it on the lowest level skill you have.

 

 

 

550 exp for prayer when only 20k is needed for the next level seems smarter than using it for 840 exp for Attack when you need ~200k exp (I can't remember LOL) for the next level.

I used genie lamps and books of knowledge on runecraft. It was my lowest skill back then and painful to train :uhh:

In F2P prayer is the most expensive and one of the slower skills, while runecrafting is the slowest skill. So I think it's best to spend lamps and books on them (the one you hate the most).

You're saying that an extra 168 seconds of a protection prayer at level 99 is useless? Feasible to get in F2P? No. Really worth the time + money? Probably not. Useless? Definitely not.

 

 

 

I definitely think smithing and prayer are two of the most worthwhile skills to use it on.

I just stick all of my Books and lamps Into Prayer, Hardest F2P Skill to train, RC is wayyy easier

Not even close. Xp rates don't exactly get higher as you level in F2P. (Besides combat, but they aren't worth using lamps on due to their high xp...)

What are you talking about?

 

You need to bury 8.33 bones or 2.5 big bones to get the same xp as smithing ONE steel bar.

 

So smithing is way faster than burying bones.

 

 

 

After 43, it is not worthless because you get more time of your prayers.

My main points were(for bones vs. smithing) for bones there is no trips, and the animation is a bit faster. However, there's also more clicking.

 

And for prayer I meant it's better to use it on some other skill. When you need 30k exp for another 30 secs or whatever of protection, using a lamp isn't very worthwhile.

 

Personally, I think the best uses for a lamp for F2P are prayer first, until you get it to 43(it platforms after there), then runecrafting until you reach whatever level you want(generally, when you can runecraft airs for profit, although you can go however far you want) and finally smithing from then on, because it saves you a lot of money.
