This may, or probably has already been mentioned but any updates on the halloween event?! What;s going to be new?

New? Well, Halloween 08 starts a new structure in holiday events.

 

 

 

There is a quest coming out in addition to the usual Halloween event. The quest will be available for f2p'ers for the two weeks of the event (During which time about 70% of f2p'ers will probably not read the front page and miss it), afterwards it will only be available to members permanently.

 

 

 

Um...Decorations. Aside from that, who knows. Oh and the zombie hand and scared emotes will undoubtedly make a return.

As Omali said, this will begin the new holiday structure. But since members can always do the quest, will this mean the end of holiday items you can only get if you were there?

I hadn't thought of that. Wow. This might cause an uproar.

I'm pretty sure Jagex stated that the holiday rewards would only be available during the two week period, while the entire quest would be available for the other rewards.

 

 

 

Maybe they plan to incorporate other rewards besides an item, xp in skills of choosing maybe?

I think what they said was that there was going to be the quest and an actual event.

The event and the quest are two separate things. You will still have to be there to get the item, but the quest will always be available to members.

Yeah I agree with Jesse it wouldn't make sense nor be fair to those players who missed previous events (e.g. Easter Ring, Xmas Scarves, Scythe etc) and yet newer players can obtain the holiday items from Halloween 08 henceforth if they ever subscribed to members, regardless of when they first started playing.

 

 

 

Holiday items are meant somewhat to show others how long a player has been playing RS.

But guess what?! We didn't implement trash cans anyway! Dirty streets for the win! Help clean up the streets of Varrock, Lumbridge, Falador, and anywhere else you can think of, and visit the Greater Demon in the deep wilderness on any of the PvP worlds to claim your prize!

 

 

 

Task: Pick up 750 wrappers; visit Greater Demon to claim your prize.

hm, i did not actually read the update it seems. Its been a while i guess, whatever. At least the availability of the old items will then still revolve around the date of its release, if it was changed that would have been upsetting i guess.

Does anyone think my red mask will go up in value? It just dropped a good mill or so, but before that it was going up. :)

October is traditionally a month of scary surprises and toothache. This month will be no different when it comes to our Halloween content, with a quest AND holiday event both to be available on the free servers.
