anonymous1234
I would have beaten the main storyline within 3 days, but since my family and a couple of my friends and I went up to North Conway to my vacation home to ski, I didn't have a computer. So I had to wait 'till today to beat it, more specifically ten minutes or so ago. It was game since Awesome. [hide=My Ending & DLC Hype To Prevent Spoilers of Any Kind]I enjoyed the main quest. My Karma was at Very Good and I was ranked a paladin. But the death ending...Was very sad for me. I haven't felt this sad in a video game since...You know what? Never. This was honestly the first game that was morally difficult and very sad. My ending was talking about my guy coming out of the vault, triumphing the wastes, following my dads example with sacrifice, and even showed the Enclave blowing up (I successfully convinced John Henry Eden to blow the Enclave facility up). It even showed me with dogmeat, but...Yeah...I never met dogmeat. I wish I had though...Oh, then it showed the lone wonderer's dad and himself (or me, whatever) in the picture. I just hated how the game ended there. Instead of the brotherhood opening up the radiated control room to save you, they just watch you die...Then the game ends. No continuing. Meh. Thats just a small thing that won't affect me I assume. The DLC is going to fix that completely, and come my birth month, the Broken Steel DLC will arrive, and it will allow continuing after the main quest. \ I'm also pretty much exited about the Pitt and Operation: Anchorage. That simulation will be fun.[/hide] Yup. Just have to wait a little longer for the Operation: Anchorage DLC, and then the Pitt, and finally Broken Steel, which according to developers of Fallout 3 Broken Steel will change the ending, apparently allowing continuing after the game, and allow the Lone Wanderer to live. All in all, great game. Never had an experience like it, ever. This will always hold a special place in my game collection. I guess a little on topic above me, anyone think it's a good idea for me to blow up Megaton? I'm sick of Moira and her book, but I know she survives. :x But I need some Caps in order to make repairs to my T-51 b Power armor (which I got from the You Gotta Shoot 'em in the Head Quest)...I also need to repair much of my equipment. But I don't want to lose -1000 karma either. Any suggestions?Did you play all of the side quests and extra stuff, not just the main storyline? Because before I got the RRoD on new years eve from playing too much fallout 3, I got in a good 6 days of ~3 hours a day, and I'm nowhere near finished. Lenticular_J
What the [bleep]. Little boys are just grenades with radiation hurt and more damage. Augh. I still want this game, though. You can hack off limbs when people are dead (or maybe still alive c:<). My friend's brother killed a crapload of raiders (I think like 13) at one place, then piled all their torsos in on spot, heads in another, left arms, right arms, etc... It was funnee. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I know there's a nuka-grenade but I don't think there's a little boy. Do you mean the fat man? Also, what your friend's brother did reminded me of a time when I fought some Super Mutants, and then found a diner with a bunch of dead bodies, and "gore bags" with body parts in them
sephiroth_king
Did you play all of the side quests and extra stuff, not just the main storyline? Because before I got the RRoD on new years eve from playing too much fallout 3, I got in a good 6 days of ~3 hours a day, and I'm nowhere near finished. My bad  ...Erm, no. I didn't mean completely raped and completed every side quest, just the main storyline itself. Yeah, so technically I didn't beat the game yet, in fact not even close. But even so, I don't play this game just 3 hours a day, I was playing it nearly all day on the days I was playing it. So I have most of it done. But again my bad, I was tired and didn't mean confusion, I just beat the main storyline so far. Hehe, I don't think I'm blowing up Megaton for a while, in fact I've found a way to harvest money easily: going to the Washington monument and taking the Brotherhood holotags from the dead BoS soldiers and bringing them to scribe Jameson (Is that her name? Again, Can't Remember :P ). 100 Caps a pop. Not a godly amount, but still very good. The better alternative is probably to get the perk that allows you to collect fingers on dead guys and sell the fingers for cash and karma. Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)
evil_mumm_ra
you could find prewar books and take them to the arlington library also, 100 caps each. indy500fan
Selling slaves ftw :D If they're like raiders I don't think they net bad karma either  Karma is a joke in the vanilla version of the game anyhow. You can go from being the max good (1000 karma) to the max evil (-1000 karma) by killing 20 people. Then you can donate 2000 caps to a church (pocket change around 30 hours in) and go from max evil all the way back to max good. Blowing up Megaton nets -1000 karma, so you can go from max good to neutral or neutral to max evil by just doing that.

rushrock
Also, what your friend's brother did reminded me of a time when I fought some Super Mutants, and then found a diner with a bunch of dead bodies, and "gore bags" with body parts in them  I think those gore bags are a lot like those flesh containers or whatever they were called in Oblivion. They were in the gates, and they usually contained potions, or spell scrolls, and maybe some gold, like a little treasure capsule. In Fallout 3, those are usually good to search, as they have caps in them, although the only possible loot I've seen so far from them were caps. It's definitely harder to make money in Fallout 3 than Oblivion, at least that's what I've noticed.

I thought there was no "easy" way of making money (unless you get infinite free stuff from the slaver in paradise falls) I have 4,000 caps right now at level 6 on very hard with a mod to reduce the amount of drugs and ammo found drastically (requiring me to buy them), as well as increasing the cost of those drugs and ammo. I've only done around 2 or 3 quests so far.

Other's will tell you to go to GNR plaza first but I find it's easier to skip that quest and do it later. Plus you get a better reward if you do it later. Technically you are supposed to learn at GNR plaza that you need to speak to Doctor Li at Rivet City.

evil_mumm_ra
#1 get the perk that lets you find more ammo in containers #2 look everywhere, you'll find ammo containers in weird places, but all raider hideouts, and super mutant places seem to have 2-5 ammo boxes, or mine boxes, or grenade boxes. some mix of them. side tip: one of the best things you can do for money is store missles. they count as ammo so they weigh nothing, and i'm selling them for like 48 caps each. i don't use missle launchers, so they are useless to me. you'll find a lot more later in the game.
