RayOxide
On kalphites? Well the drops dont cover the cost, and I dont like the guardians - unlikely drops, AND sorta hard. Plus, easy to kill with defender and the kalphite weapon from contact! And since I only have 100k gp I need to not-waste guthans on anything I dont need a siggy no moar. I usually make over that per task. When you reach 750k, I'd start to do MTK to bring in some spare cash. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~

bedman
Ray, you are asking questions, you get 2 very decent responses (Compfreak and Kent), yet you ignore them. The only reason where I can see why you disagree with Kent is on: 10 percent prayer (bit of a hassle to bring pray pots all the time and people forget that to really end up with equal cash, you have to do rcing or whatever in the time you've saved, which I personally dont, so if you're low on cash, dont do this one). Use a combat familiar and guthan in stead of bunyip. Small xp difference for a lot of hassle (using guthan, calling familiar), especially if you cant use geyser titan (or higher yet. So my advice Apperantly, you are really low on cash, so sell the guthan. Buy a verac skirt, the prayer bonus is handy Use a dds! (your personaly experience is bleep) Get 68 summoning asap (through the charms you get from slayer) Do every 10th task at duradel. The pts are handy. Get a black mask, if not, stop slaying. Dont be so stubborn Do MM if you really want to train str while slayering. (However, better dont be so stubborn and use whip on controlled). That's it. You're probably gonna ignore them cause you dont wanna use "a bloody dds and train with whip on controlled", but hey, I've tried... ps: the dds is actually a detail, I just wanted to point out that it really *is* the best special weapon (for xp), maybe next to sgs (healing + prayer). Small xp difference for a lot of hassle (using guthan, calling familiar), especially if you cant use geyser titan (or higher yet. I disagree completely with that. Calling the familiars is terrible, you have to do it so much and it isnt effective at all until you get to iron/steel titans for their specs (believe me I have already gone through all them). Using guthans frequently means that you won't be wearing black mask (loss in speed of your kills) and you won't be using a whip (more loss in speed). It is very effective using a bunyip because the speed of your task increases a ton, as does you exp per hour in combat and slayer.

Inuashakent
Oh I see you were disagreeing with kent about that, ok then I also disagree with him on that :P. I wouldn't call 12k+ Magic xp/hour little... it honestly depends on the task. And yeah, the call feature is really terrible. The reason I use combat familiars is because I don't need Guthans. 8-) I get hit by many Fire giants (just an ex) and let my familiar kill one completely by himself. It works for me. All the rest of them I use bunyip/unicorn (I normally piety every task in initiate so unicorn is needed for many).

You can't bring a combat familiar to them though since they are in non-multi (unless you have the mutated ones) and in my case of the three you just posted, I only bring a familiar to one of them if I am not pietying and that is Nechryaels, Dust Devils you can do with only SGS specs (I know he doesnt have) and same with Bloodvelds if you wear Karils. pulli23
I was referring to the Mutated ones, but yeah, I wasn't considering his level... Just safespot everything, mutated bloodveld room is GREAT for safespotting! (only the mighty banshee room is a place with more/easier safe spots).. Anyways: I personally hardly ever melee these days. Range really is good, and combining it with slayer makes it profitable + efficient for training too! Basically every monster more (or equal) to a size of 2*2 can be safespotted always! But the problem is: melee is better, melee is often easier/more straight forward. You don't need to look for safe spots, so unless like me you kick on finding safe spots ( :? ) meleeing is what you should do! Now I personally hate using a dds too: I feel that I hit often more with 2 whip-attacks than with 2 dds specs. Still it's proven that a dds-spec is better than a whip. Now as for guthans: well if you're lower than 68 summoning it's a "must": sure bones to peaches/food might be enough: but it's just too hard to do.. After 68 it's a bit of a tradeoff: guthans is a lot worse than normal slayer armor, however if don't use guthans you can't use a combat familair. So I would say: between 68 and 89 summoning use a bunyip/unicorn... from 89 onwards use guthans again (+ geyser titan). First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. bedman
Problem with ranging is that you might as well just camp somewhere, there's no mask bonus. I'd really wish they'd update the 15% accuarcy and strength increase for magic and ranging too. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! RayOxide
When someone says to another, use a dds to catch up on 200k strength xp through slayer, I disregard them. It's not going to be a quick train. And just cause i ask for advice doesnt mean I have to take it all, although some people have given great advice. So I sold my guthans. Got 100k more than for what I bought. @DDS, I know it's better than a whip, but the accuracy of it makes me really dislike it, much like all the GS'. (SGS is only exception, due to its effect). I'm going to buy a black mask - do the charges really matter? Bed, its not like im a noob for having 57 summoning, I have enough for 58 and will get it when I feel like it. I think I have a slightly higher-than-average summoning level for 100cb. Oh and if anyone cares I'm gonna put a rant up on slayer in rants. I dont need a siggy no moar. RayOxide
Ah, I see now. Just, in your opinion, Do you honestly think that I will get 200k str xp in a semi decent amount of time if I controlled train with whip? I'd rather use the obby combo tbh. I dont need a siggy no moar.
Italian5kamikaze
I dont train with controlled but I remember when I used to use guthans a lot I would forget to change the styles back and accidentally trained on controlled and it wasnt fast exp but it wasnt as slow as I thought it would be. I definitely recommend the obby combo to train strength though. Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.
