"N00b skillcapes" : they're also skillcapes!

i think quest cape without and even with our awesome guides (Tip.It FTW!) it would add up to much more then 150 hours. I used our guides and it took me 5 hours to do just the Mourning Ends part 2.....

Just a little thing id like to bring out about the combat capes. This is my opinion and feel free to argue me on this.

 

 

 

When I see a high level player I dont get any special respect for them right away. If they have a low slayer, I see them as a PCer or someone who afked it at monkeys or something. In my eyes they didnt really work for those capes or levels (Could not be true but I will make that assumption) so Its just a meh to me. If its wrong of me to look down on a 138 with less then 90 in slayer (85 very least) then im guilty

I quite agree with you, though 138 means high summon, and somehow, I respect high summon lvls :-).

 

Btw quest cape isnt 16M xp. Last time I checked it was around 8M xp for the reqs. I do agree that if you calculate the time it takes to get the reqs AND the time/attention it takes to do the quest, you come out with one of the harder capes.

Like every conversation i see is a competition between two people who want to be better than eachother... People don't just concede that a player is better than them in a skill, and compliment them. There's always an excuse thrown in. I'm better than pretty much nobody, and could care less, I think people who have skills that are above level 80 are very impressive. and i tell them that. I don't say it and then toss in, lol i couldn't be bothered training such a boring skill, that's why my level is so low. Why degrade people you've never met like that? It's so depressing. Whenever I play runescape i end up completely losing my faith in humanity. People are so horrible to eachother, and they've never even met! look at what's being discussed here! some skill capes are "nooby" because a lot of people have them? really? way to be pathetic. Who are you to question their motives, and why do you care enough to bash them like that? do whatever the hell floats your boat. and don't attack people for doing what floats their boat. ok so they want a skill cape. me too, but i don't have nearly enough dedication to do it. skills are too easy now, and skillcapes were really only special for the first few months after they came out. when i got my crafting under 500 people had it, when i quit it was pushing 3k. yes a skillcape is a skillcape but honestly by this point no skillcape is much "noobier" than another, because theyre all in the same boat

I personally enjoy cooking it's one my favourite skills to train partly because of good exp and sometiems I can even make a little proffit from it I choose when to cook with fish prices raw and cooked. Fletching I did that with logs i cut myself and Fm I did half of it with logs I cut I used to enjoy Wc don't anymore. I bought rest of Fm. Thieving one of my favourites and Hunter I started it one day and didn't stop until I got 99. My least favourite was Fm.

Maybe we train around different spots. If I tell someone that my level is higher than theirs (lets say my 72 wc against a random person's 40-something at Draynor), I normally get a "Wow, nice." I do the same if someone is better than me.

 

 

 

Also, what you're seeing as excuses, I see differently. If someone says, "Wow, nice rc, I don't have the patience for that" or if I say it to someone, it's not intended as an excuse. I see it more as a further compliment, or perhaps a shift in the compliment. They're not making an excuse for themselves, they're just complimenting your persistence.

I dont see what the problem is with certain skillcapes being called 'nooby' it takes weeks of dedicated training to just get one skill cape, no matter what skill it is in. and personally, i love the way that the cooking and fletching capes look, and would get an amazing sense of achievment from getting one. :thumbsup:

Lol, Runescape doesn't require any sort of mental or physical labor/skills so whats wrong with having low skills? High levels are high levels because they play Runescape more. BTW Runescape is a GAME its something you do in your spare time and so if you are "good" at it, chances are you actually do less work, and i mean actual work not deciding to train cooking or something

My first 99 was firemaking way back when (7/22/07) And that was about the time people started calling it a noob skill cape. At that time, my total level was 1065? And I wanted a 99, something that I could do. I decied to get 99 firemaking. At first it was for the skill cape, thats all i though about as i burned 121,000 willow logs for it. But at around level 80... I started to enjoy the skill. Thats kinda stupid to say, but I found it to be a stress reliver for me. By the time I got 99, I wanted to keep going, but slowy it died for me. (Stuck at I think 13,2 mill xp?)

 

 

 

All I can say is runescape is a game. If you want a cape just for the sake of the cape, then do it. Dont listen to what others say, if they are your friends, they will support you 110%

When you are a 99 chaser people tend to frown upon you because you only go for the cape and don't get any enjoyment. I used to refuse to train the skills that were boring but my friends forced me into getting a better total level because they said it failed hardcore. If you don't enjoy it find something you do enjoy and get a cape in it. Also strength is the most common cape but noone frowns on it because it's a combat cape. I am against power training and 99 chasing or cape chasing personally but theres nothing I can do about noobs who do it.

Firemaking is one of the easiest skillcapes in the game to obtain, but it is still a skillcape nonetheless.

 

However, that doesn't mean other people won't think the same way. Firemaking, cooking, fletch, etc., should be used as trimmers in my opinion for better capes, like combats/smithing/herblore/etc
