Lenticular_J
Well, we're all a little different on these forums, as I've noticed. But how many of us really want to be different? You're probably confused, and think I'm a little odd. But let me demonstrate. My math teacher is very aggravated with me. Often, instead of paying attention during class, I try desperately to create a triangle with two obtuse angles. I know, you probably think me an idiot. But I think it's possible. So I keep trying. After all, those who broke the possibility barriers of the world were some of the best benefactors, eh? Also, I'm very strange. You've probably guessed, but I'm not altogether that liked at school. Because I try to find interesting, new ways to do things. Once again, people who've done this have helped us out tons (Example: What nutjob decided to suck on a cow's nipple?). Yet strangeness is not completely accepted in our society. Violating the old ways, that could never be wrong. Odd, isn't it? Something else I believe: Love and emotion should be a science, same as physics. I don't want to pioneer this, since I hate physics, but I want someone to. Who else is intent on shaking the very foundations of our lives? Who else wants to claim gravity doesn't pull us down, it pulls us up, and we're all upside-down? Go get 'em, tigers. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
Lateralus
(Example: What nutjob decided to suck on a cow's nipple?) I'll make a better post later, I just had to take issue with this. Whoever decided to get milk from cows will have observed the calves suckling. No mystery or oddity there. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
Riku3220
You cant make a triangle with two obtuse angles because all three angles hav e to add up to 180. Since the lowest obtuse angle you could use would be 91 degrees that adds up to 182 degrees by just the obtuse angles. Although i do annoy my math teachers with square root of -1 divided by 0 :-w
Errdoth
I've always felt sorta detached from the popular way of thinking. I just think that, as a species, we have so much potential, but we choose to squander it for the security of what's known and familiar. Mostly I'm talking about space/the rest of the universe. Probably comes from too much scifi. :P [/deep] Last.fm Signature Overlays

meol
I know what you're trying to say, but I don't think it works like that at all. Innovation isn't about breaking the rules and defending crazy positions, it's about researching and having an open mind when you find something new and unusual. For example, you could have a triangle where the angles add up to more than 180º, just not with Euclidean geometry. But you must first understand this geometry and then these triangles. RichieMcD
I'm a split personality in 2 different situations. When I'm out with my friends I'll be getting drunk, smoking and partying, I play Rugby for my school team which is a Rugby school so it'd be like the (American) football team in an American school. I do pretty well when it comes to girls, been going out with my current GF for last 3 months now. Wear my own mix of clothes that's basically a mix of the 3 coolest styles, do 8 hours of charity work a week. If you saw me on the street you'd probably put me in the bracket of "cool" or "jock" the only difference being I don't treat people who are considered geeks or losers like [cabbage]e. When I'm at home I'm completely different, I play RS and WOW, both of which are pretty much considered for social [developmentally delayed]s where I'm from, I like to take part in good debates on this OT section and talk on other mature enough internet forums. So basically, if you saw me on the street you'd consider me a jock / cool guy pretty much. If you were to see me at home you'd probably consider me a social outcast / social [developmentally delayed]. So basically I act normal when I'm out having fun, when I'm at home I'm pretty different from the normal.
llcoolguy972
Normal's boring. ;) I can't say that I'm intent on shaking foundations, but I don't exactly consider people's feelings before I open my mouth. Eh. And, honestly, I wouldn't have guessed that you weren't well liked. You seem really interesting and mature and I wish some of my friends were half as intelligent as you. I have faith in you about the triangle, though; I'll look for your name in the papers.

Basically, it's this. You have to wear the newest, best clothes. Males have to be jocks, females cheerleaders. Can have no association with technology in any way. You have to treat anyone who doesn't conform like scum. If you don't treat them like scum, you are scum. "Your mom", and sexual innuendos are the only insults and/or jokes. gedboy2112
I get in some trouble with my teacher's for asking them to figure out what's wrong with the 1=2 proof and the prime factorization of i (imaginary unit). One of the thing's I am trying to do (I'm just a tad bit young lol) is proof that p does in fact=np p=np is short for saying " if something is easy to verify, is it also easy to proof?" Not as easy as it look's most people would say, yea and most computer programer's would say, HELL NO :o ! Let me give you an example they try to use in solving this, Let's say you are a travling sales men, if there are 100,000 cities randomley placed across a map what is the quickest route to go from one to another and return to you're first spot. It would take a supercomputer million's of years to solve that.... http://rambelingsofateenagetechie.blogspot.com/MY BLOG Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed. -Joseph StalinMy Logo! Wisp
I spent a few minutes in math the other day calculating how much time we were wasting in her class, as a percentage of our lives (taking the average american lifespan). Then went on for half an hour saying, you know, in the .0005% of my life you just spent yelling at me, I could have been doing something useful. It was a blast. fastortoise
So basically I act normal when I'm out having fun, when I'm at home I'm pretty different from the normal. Everybody does this. People change personalities when their with their friends, families, at work, at school, in private ect. Being different in various situations is actually normal... it's puuuuuurty neat

Sounds like your a poser. You could say that, but you could also say I'm a person who could fit in with 2 completely different social groups and I choose to hang out with the group who has much more fun and act accordingly to save myself some hardship / slagging. In Ireland the definition of a poser would more be of a person who trys to fit into a group he doesn't belong to and doesn't succeed, I do fit in so I'm not a poser, I'm just part of the group.
