Now I don't wanna go into a religion-debate on why we celebrate Christ by buying hundreds of gifts, wrapping them up and lying to our children by saying a fat man dressed in red gave them to them, but this is more on the shopping side. What are you getting for your friends/relatives and why? For me, I'm really trying to hint at what do you get for your mum/mom because I have no idea what to get for mine. Money is tight around my house so there won't be much for presents but it's not a big deal. I pretty much told extended family that if they're getting me anything it might as well be money because that's about all I need at the moment (unless they'd like to get me a car or an apartment haha). Hawks Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 Apparently we're getting a new HDTV and a Wii if we can find one as a 'gift to our family' ( :XD: ) I'll probably get a lot of gift cards to bookstores and stuff... Go buy some D&D stuff or an mp3 player (still don't have one). My grandma always gets me a lego set... I have probably at least a million legos. Idk what I'm getting my mom though... For her birthday (a few days ago) we got her a new CD-R/DVD-R drive and a stuffed animal... For Christmas she's bought herself some pajamas... She says my brother and I can give them to her... We do that, buy ourselves presents then pretend we're suprised when we get them.. So we are not able to give out many presents this year to anyone let alone my brothers or I. And we just threw a baby shower for our cousin. which kinda cost alot. Presents arent a big deal anymore in my family as we're all get older 20+. But I will be asking for a new battery for my macbook pro. Other then that my grandparents will end up giving me money. I probably won't buy any presents, never really have. I don't have a source of income (Other than Chinese New Year - Which is going to be used for college - and my birthday), so it's not like I could get anything decent.
