How large is a Runescape vial?

Featured Replies

The word "vial" can be applied to many things.

My question is, how large is a Runescape vial?

This question bothers me because a vial (in Runescape) must be rather large to contain 3 valuable doses of potion right?

But the word "vial" indicates something quite small, maybe small enough to fit in the palm of one's hand. You can't really take 3 swigs from something the size of your thumb.

Are the vials in Runescape just over sized? Then how are they different from beakers/bottles/pitchers/etc?

These properties seem to be mutually exclusive to me, and are therefore perplexing.

So I'm asking you, the Tip.it community to help me make sense of this.

Well in all relaity the "vials" in runescape are more shaped like erlenmeyer flasks. Average size being 250ml. But even with that there are large ones, i have personaly used a 4 liter one.

Didnt that strange to you that you can be over 100kg and yet move or run at same speed as those who are 0kg?

Same with vial, there is a semi-infinite space contained within that only takes up 3 doses.

Also, phial. a small container, as of glass, for holding liquids: a vial of rare perfume; a vial of medicine.

Its small, thats all we know, no evidence or proof saying any exact size.

Well one way theoretically would be to see how much it weighs in rs and calculate that based on the mass/cm^2 in a standard vial irl.

Well it all depends on your perception on how big a dose is. I think a dose is just a swig, so a vial could be about half the size of my hand, maybe a little bigger

It's 1g H20 = 1ml, so all we need is the weight of an empty and full vial of water, subtract and divide and we have the volume, but the problem is they have no weight.

It's people like you that ruined my Orgin of Charms thread. There is more to a game than just what is there, some people like to know more.

The vial during Legends quest can be wielded. You could try to look at that and see how big it is.

since it can fit 4 doses, it should be larger then most vials. i would say it's about 1.5 times bigger then an average cup.

You are in a game surrounded by fairies, unicorns, dwarves, and magic and you are wondering why you cannot put 28 shrks in a backpack? Astounding.

So, let me get this right...

You make potions out of herbs and some other 'second ingredient', ranging from newt eyes to spider eggs. Evidently, some potions are not at all pleasant to drink.

So, 1 dose is going to be something like a shot glass, where you just down it once. It tastes awkward for a minute or two and then you are fine....and the effects start to sink in.

The vial will therefore can't be more than 200 mls.

It'll be like the conical flasks you use in chemistry.

1.Get out a ruler

2.Measure the vial on your screen

3.?????????

4.Profit

Note the hand grasping the vial. It looks like it can barely hold the vial so I can presume that the bottom flares outwards to hold a large amount. I can compare it to a 750 ml beaker with a tip that closes to hold a stopper.

This is a very odd question indeed and I don't know why you should care

You know when you are mixing potions, a vial comes up and pours into a pestle and mortar?

Or did they remove that animation?

Also you can use the wielded vial from Legends' for reference as people have said.

Then you look at how big it is in comparison to the RuneScape body and that's the ratio...there ya go.

Don't stereotype me. People are creating threads for the sake of creating threads these days.

Who cares if how big a vial is in real life because it isn't real life it's a game and therefore doesn't bare an exact resemblance on real life. Rules of phisics etc do not apply in a virtual world. As someone said, how would you fit 28 sharks into your backback or 28 armadyl godswords... it's a game do something else with your time.
