This is going to sound silly, but I'm travelling back with just a big backpack, after being away for 2 weeks. I doubt a big book like that'll fit in in the first place, and that's not considering the fact that it's heavy. Bag's a pain in... umm, well on the back, already. Plus, I'm sleeping in a tent, along with 1000s of other young 'uns. So odds that it gets stolen are fairly bad, considering everyone likes them and I can't carry it around all day.

Ahh Harry Potter, every year my fantasies are rekindled. I read the last book way too fast, and cant remember a single thing that happens in it. I can answer alot of questions about the other 4, which i have read many a time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I will too be sad to see the series end, but like all great things, it must, i guess.

The last book had a global release time, if this one does as well so I can get it at the same time as you, I will gladly beat you... Erm I mean race you. ;) I look foward to the book, and I think it was here that someone posted an argument that lead me to believe the "Half-Blood Prince" would be Neville Longbottom, the huge hole in the theory though is Neville being pure blood lol ;)

Movies, yes they ruined Harry Potter. Unlike many though, I think the 3rd movie was the best. Why? Because their movies not recreations of the books. You can never get all the details into a movie. The first two tried that and were alright, but weren't actually good movies. Malfoy was nonexistant in the first two. Finally, in the third movie they played out Malfoy's character and added a darker tone that should have been there. I could have never read the books and still liked that movie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I also hope the new book isn't like the 5th one. I know it was meant to show the change in Harry, but god Harry Potter became "emo." No one wants that.

Heh, I was going to post this a few days back, but thought it was a bit too early. We're approching the last week now, Less than 7 days to go! I, like most here, have pre ordered it on Amazon.ca! Guaranteed arrival on the first day, so I'm pretty excited about that. I just re-read the series, finished yesterday. I'm all set for book 6, everything is fresh in my head!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As for the "reading race" I think it's kinda pointless. Sure, it'll be fun to see who finishes it all first and whatnot, but if you think twice about it, do you really want to rush thru such a great book? I'll take my time, and make sure I get every last detail. I don't want to have to read it twice to see things I missed the first time around, i'll try and get everything in the first time. Should be a great book tho, as I said, I'm pretty excited about it. It's kinda odd tho, cause I'm a 15 year old teenage boy who likes basketball, computers, and rap music, yet I'm reading Harry Potter. I have no clue what'll happen in HBP. Who is the HBP? I have no clue. I'm thinking its probably a new character, perhaps the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, whoever that may be. I hope Dumbledore becomes the new Minister of Magic, and leaves Hogwarts to be run by Headmistress McGonagall...that would be pretty interesting!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm not sure what'll happen to Azkaban however, with the Dementors now taking orders from Voldermort? Who will replace the Dementors? Will all prisoners be running wild with Voldermort now or what? I'm expecting Malfo, Neville, and Grawp to have huge roles in this novel as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Perhaps Dumbledore dies, leaving Harry Potter as the only one who can now face off vs Voldermort? Will the Wizarding world turn to Harry Potter once Dumbledore dies? I dunno. Just a thought. Since, afterall, it is Harry Potter, and only Harry Potter, who can kill Voldermort. Remember, Harry Potter's life must include murder. He will be murdered, or become a murderer. Eitherway, one of the two must die in book 7. All eyes will/should be on HP at the end of book 6, which is why I think Dumbledore may die.

i'm surprised mayjest's been the only one to point this out. i've been suspecting dumbledore since the end of the 3rd book and " Dumbledore has something like triumph in his eyes" at the end of the 4th book, i mean that's like major. i think dumbledore is actually working as a death eater and the hp has to fight with snape (cuz i said so :P ) to .... defeat dumbledore and .... voldemort....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

but the title of the book is odd. in books 1-5 the title always described the plot of the book. i don't really see how "the half blood prince" can be a plot. yeah?

Ah, yes, book two. I heard about Spinners End being a chapter, so now I get why you thought about Aragog. However, I still can't possibly think of how he would play a role in the story, at this stage? What reasoning would there be to bring him back into the story? Anyone?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna take as long as possible to read it because as soon as your done....there's no new Harry Potter for who knows how long, so better make this one worth it.

Grop excapes my recollection right now, but Aragog is the giant spider in The Chamber of Secrets. The one who they thought was the Chamber's creature.

Grawp is Hagrid's baby half-brother, who happens to be a giant. Hagrid brings him back to Hogwarts when he returns from trying to get the Giants to come to the good side..
