Maybe an IQ test isn't whats needed really. At least a test before you have a child. Like basics on how to treat it, what shots and everything. Because I've seen a lot of parents having no idea what they should in some situations.

In some respects I agree with you, but I think something like that is too hard to regulate. There are too many unexpected pregnancies and lots of misused birth control.

It's so damn stupid. We are loosing jobs (and we'll see what happens with Volvo and Saab in the near future), companies moving to Poland or China while we keep accepting around 100k people each year.

 

Crime rates keeping going up.

 

And the even worse thing is, that the immigrations has failed (of course, politicians don't admit it). The immigrants usually get put into the Stockholm, Malmö or Gothenburg area, while almost none get sent more north. They get sent to these areas where it's not a good percentage of getting a job, while there are other places that would be able to give them jobs.

 

Just take Rosengård in Malmö as an example, ambulances and firefighters don't go there anymore if they don't get back-up by the police, because people living there disturbs the work and even throw stones.

 

So i think it should be stopped, because the unemployee-rate just keeps on rising (especially with the current financial state).

If I had a nice long time to think about it, there's probably a lot I would change. But firstly I would require everyone to retake a driving class once every 10 years, this being required to renew your license. It's scary how many absolutely terrible drivers there are out there. I know I'm far from a perfect driver but I don't do some of the stupid [cabbage] I've seen people do..

 

 

 

I would also legalize stem cell research, decriminalize marijuana (legalize medical in all states), and make some changes in the public schooling system so we're more focusing on retaining information than just passing the next test.

 

 

 

That's so true about the schol system; we have SOLS (lame piece of [cabbage]s a 1st grader could do) and all the teachers do is cater to them.

Church and State is seperated, unless you're refering to the Pledge. Which is ALSO laughable, don't say the pledge. Easy. I go to school and learn about Evolution in Biology, I don't agree with it, I just put the facts on the test and erase it from my memory.

The Church constantly gets involved with politics, even if they don't have any official seat of power inside a legislature. They take their power to the ballot box instead (re: Mormon support for Prop 8.). How many times do you hear about religion not liking the way evolution is taught in schools? If they were truly separate, they'd just but out.

 

 

 

Hell, only today we had several prominent figures in the Anglican church speak out against Mugabe. If that's not getting involved in politics, I really don't know what is.

Assuming I'm talking about America here, not Taiwan...

 

-Improve education by a ton. American education is falling badly behind China and India's. More focus on math, science and technology. Raise standards overall.

 

-Implement a required course for high school students...I'm torn between a military training program (Kind of like JROTC?) and a working-skills class.

 

-Improve healthcare. Universal for the most part. I'd attempt to make it so those with a valid excuse for not being able to afford it (A disability, for instance) would be able to have a free service, while lazy slugs wouldn't.

 

-Prioritize internal poverty over external.

Also make it mandatory for kids to join honors classes if they get B+ in their regular classes. Or maybe mandatory tutoring for anyone getting a D- or lower in their classes.

There must be some way to do it without getting shut down by Congress. What happened to the three branches balancing each other out?

1. Increase the level of buisness oversight by the federal government.

 

2. Abolish the electoral college.

 

3. Make the illegality of phone tapping and other invasions of privacy by the government part of the constitution.

 

4. Increase the size of the legislature.

 

5. Increase the power of the federal government over the states.

 

6. Make seperation of church and state a part of the constitution. (more so then it is now. explicitly so, instead of merely implied.)

 

7. Make abortions impossible to obtain except for those with a legitmate reason. (I.E genetic disease, rape, incest.) *

 

8. Legalize gay marriage *

 

9. Slash millitary spending, and make all money spent on researching to be spent on things that can be legitimately argued to have almost entirely defensive purpose.

 

10.Legalize marijuana, but put taxes on it. And a ban restricting how much you can have at a time. *

I would probably also try and eradicate poverty. But than again they're will probably be no end to it. I would like to see a lot of poverty down a knotch or two.
