im a preety new mem and wen i went to p2p ge...its was the laggest thing i have ever been 2...so i was thinking an xtra ge? perhaps in cammy or catherby?

The ge lags a lot less if you just turn public chat to friends, most of the lag (for me anyway) comes from talking. Don't quote me on this, I'm not a lag expert since my computer is pretty good.

Try switching to a less crowded world if you're having problems, or just turn off public chat so you don't see all those "junk salez!!!!11!1/!!" spammers.

well ppl like to jack thing in ardouge for thiev xp...btw y do merchants still sel lshet there they get thigns jacked more than they do sell...anywho i thot catherby would be nice cuz its close to cammy for tele and tehres lots of room there expecially the forest up north.

Secondly, there won't be another GE. The GE wouldn't be so "grand" anymore if it had multiple locations. Besides, it's designed to put offers on, and not for hanging around. Therefore some lag won't kill you. If it gives you too much lag, simply put your offers on, and go hang around another bank, if you must be near one for your Runescape activities. A second GE on the other hand would be overkill, unnecessary and generally a bad idea.

I always thought it slightly odd that you can collect items/gp from G. E. trades via a banker, yet you can't put items directly from your bank into the G. E.

 

 

 

I'm not suggesting that they actually impliment this - it's just odd.

 

 

 

Besides, the entire point of the G. E. was to have one, central spot for trading. It would defeat the purpose if they made another one.

The GE is one of the most crowded places in the RS world. You're going to get lag. Split it in two, and you'll still get lag. Try a less crowded world, or make sure to play with chat on "Off" or "Friends" and it won't be as bad. The difference between on and off chat makes a noticable difference.

Having a few small booths does seem like a good Idea. Innovation and easy use are highly sought after in this efficient day and age, something that would make a lot of people happy, but for how long? If that were to be done, there would be no need for the whole Grand Exchange. By getting rid of the Grand Exchange we lose all of that central exchange and commerce between players and there would be less communication. People love communication. I think this "laggy" get-together is worth having, it gives players a chance to communicate and organise non-exchange trades. Yes, I think some of this communication isn't necessary (Why would anyone say "selling item X on GE Y price"? It doesn't really do anything.) but it seems like a better idea to have it in one place.

Sure, call them fussy but it's kind of irritating to have to try and decipher a language they shouldn't have to and chances are your post will be ignored if you neglect grammar. By posting on a forum you say "I want people to hear my opinion" what good is it if people can't understand - or won't read your opinion in the first place?

thnk you....4 once some1 who is actually considering this, i do realize it would take away comunication but rs i getting fartehr and farthe away from that anyways.when ge came out the biz worlds were still a bit crowded but later it went smaller, smaller, and now the only ppl in west bank are questers, herblore trainers, abd fletchers. i think its time to move on ,thts like complainging about the ammount of thing tht r dont by robots or non-skill labor in the real world. i do miss communication a bit because it did make buyin a bit mroe fun and u could merchant for money but GE is so much more efficent, small ge booths would make it more effiicent. \

Let's not get too carried away here. I'm stating that it would be nice to make thing easier, heaps nice. But sometimes a cost is too great and just because something is dying, we shouldn't try to kill it more. We should try to find a balance between the two. For example, we could change the layout of the Grand Exchange. We could move the booths to make an outer ring, or something along those lines. Everyone performing manual trades and chatting would probably hang out in the centre and the outskirts would be bustling with traders and people checking their banks. Anyway, I think that while the Grand Exchange is fine, I guess it could use something to help minimise the lag and keep people talking.

Erm, sorry? They have 99 skills because they were motivated enough, just because they have 99 skills doesn't mean that they are on the computer for 24 hours a day.

 

 

 

Also, I for one care about proper spelling and grammar. If I were to post my whole post tlking 1n 133t spek it wod look a b1t stup1d, w0udnt it? I see no need to type in chat speak as opposed to the way you naturally talk.

 

 

 

OT: I see no need for an extra GE. Sure, it's really laggy, but I find going into Standard Detail stops almost all the lag. The actual "usable" part is small anyways, and it's within easy reach of a glory teleport or a Varock teleport.

honestly..having an extra GE for p2p would be redundant. also the time and effort it would take to combine both withdrawals and inserts for both GE's if ur really worried about lag, like other ppl stated, turn public off or switch worlds... -.-

Well I guess it's good for Varrock because it was a ghost town before the Grand Exchange. Almost everyone (P2P anyway) was trading in Falador or Seer's Bank. It was mostly Seer's Bank on every member's server besides World 2. It really promotes Varrock in my opinion.

Varrock was very crowded in F2P though. I remember how fun it was... In the bank they sold food... to the east they sold armor and weapons... to the north they sold rare items (and spinach rolls and charcoal, of course! I remember myself yelling "selling spinach roll 50k!" in 2006 or so... good memories :thumbsup: )... to the west - north-west they sold trimmed armour... to the south they sold amulets. And it was hard to find a player who was selling, say, rune full when the chat box was flooding all the time (20+ messages every second) :D But it was in the past. I must say that it was much funnier than the GE will ever be.
