Hi there i have decided to put 36mill into slayer,

 

 

 

I need you help to determine what i should buy in the following sections:

 

 

 

runes

 

armour

 

food

 

equipment

 

Any other missed.

 

 

 

I have Dragon Boots, Fury and Slayer Helmet so count them off.

 

 

 

So what should i buy to make slayer quicker, i want too spend the full amount, no questions asked.

 

And should i skip certain tasks, or even block them off completely.

 

 

 

If it helps i am using Duradel, and my house is in Brimhaven.

Does that cost 36 mill? I'd gotta say either go with the bandos armor or the dfire. I'd go with the dfire. I would also save at least 10 mill. Unless you have more money as a reserve.

Bandos chest/tassets are nice to have but high cost. I use em and like em. but prosy top and verac skirt is good replacement (pray 10% str always with that outfit)

 

 

 

YOu will want a sara sword for gargs and waterfiends (whip is fine at gargs)

 

 

 

You will want karils top/bottom for fiends/mith drags

If you want to train controlled, zammy spear instead of sarasword for fiends.

 

 

 

Thats all I can think of for now. If you dont plan to slay seriously (for a very long time anywasy) lower the pots and cannon balls :P

Also ring of wealth is the ring to you zerker is overpriced junk for 1 extra hit and warrior well it just can not add up to the ownage of an extra chance at a good drop.

i sold my dfs in 4 days as I was getting 5k LESS exp per hour with it at a cost of 15m compared to rune defender

 

 

 

 

 

Wealth is only worth it on abyssal demons and wyverns imo. Over the course of 99 slayer those are the only 2 tasks ive noticed an actual difference

Wealth is worth it on every task but maybe kaliphites because they drop nothing special anyway. Just having wealth on 24/7 saves forgetting and such so might as well have a better chance at rare drops on any tasks.

 

 

 

DFS is used for defence bonuses not for the offensive bonuses so thats why. It's worth giving yp 5k xp to not get hit as much not to mention it is very useful outside of slayer too.

It's been proven rune defender gives higher xp rates, defence isn't really needed in majority of slayer tasks. For drag tasks it's a great thing to have, but who wants to fork over 15m just to have an easier time dragon slaying when it's already so easy? Unless the author does GWD regurarly, steering away from DFS would be a good idea.

 

 

 

Also, beserker is nice for tasks that don't have good drops (abby demons, for example), much better investment then bandos. Warrior is just... junk. +4 slash bonus? Please.

 

 

 

I'd go with:

 

Bandos Tasset/Plate (Depends on your defence level, I'd only get this if your 85+ def).

 

Beserker ring.

 

Fury.

 

Possibly invest in trying to get a fire cape.

 

D boots

 

Invest in getting the best RFD gloves you can, if you haven't already.

 

Karil top/bottom

 

Invest in getting karmja gloves if you're using duradel

 

200+ super sets and prayer potions

 

2k Pineapple pizzas

 

Guthans (so you can use combat familiars)

 

Leaf-Bladed sword if you plan on doing mith dragon tasks

 

Zammy spear OR Saradomin sword for waterfiends

 

Cannon + CBalls (As many as you can afford to get)

 

 

 

That should have you generously set for slayer.

 

 

 

And should i skip certain tasks, or even block them off completely.

 

See one of the slayer guides in the general guides forum for good lists of things to block and skip. I've currently got this blocked at duradel: Steel drags, iron drags, Hellhounds, kalphites. The last 2 are more personal preference.

rune def if used for defence is overkill on 70% of tasks with bunyip.... and rune def=faster kills

I would recommend

 

 

 

torags armor

 

rune defender

 

salve when possible

 

wealth- slayer is all about the drops so use it whenever the monster has good drops

 

fire cape or whatever the best cape you can get is

 

karils top and bottom

 

leaf bladed sword for mith drags

 

a bunch of super sets- these will make slayer a whole lot easier

 

buy pizzas and pineapples and make them into pineapple pizzas. making them yourself will save you a bunch of money.

 

prayer potions

 

karamaja gloves 3, makes getting to duradel a lot easier

 

cannon and 5k cannonballs to start with.

You could spend some on 68 summoning

Full Torags and Karil (No Weapon)

 

DFS or Rune Defender

 

Dragon Boots

 

Rune Xbow and probably 20k broad bolts

 

Whip, Dragon Halberd, and Saradomin Sword/BGS

 

At least 2k pineapple pizzas

Here's a nooby question for you guys: why do you some of you say to get a leaf-bladed sword for mith dragon tasks?

 

 

 

To OP: Maybe spend some money building the perfect slayer's house. Including portals, an armor stand, a mounted glory, an altar, and a lectern (if needed).

Leaf bladed sword because it has the best stab of any 1 handed weapon. mith dragons are weak to stab. So leaf sword ends up getting fastest kills

For some tasks I exchange the guthan body and d legs with black d hide, such as Aberrant specters and Bloodvelds

 

 

 

Speed up some tasks with a cannon if you have money to waste. And you will have money to waste when you hit higher slayer levels.

 

 

 

For most tasks a bunyip is used. I recommend still having a full guthan because sometimes it's easier to clean up a task with guthans. You only have 40 or so to go and you have just banked. You don't got back with another bunyip, but take some cheap food and guthans.

 

 

 

The thing is to develop your own style, and get the equipment that suits your style.

 

 

 

 

 

Buy the bandos body and tassets if you want. If it fits with your style. I would go with some standard equipment till you discover your style.

 

 

 

The key to slayer is persistence, not equipment.

waste some money on crafting if you haven't got the level to do slayer rings.

 

And definitely waste money on summoning if you don't have level 68.

I talk with Miss regularly in game and she doesn't have the charms for 68 summon yet and wants to slay her charms :thumbsup:. It will save her alot of food and/or guthans time because she can easily tank most tasks with the shield. You can never have too much defence and sure you may get that massive 1k-2k each xp/hr with defender but your using more bunyips, food, guthans time vs. the person who uses the shield. Personally I use an SGS but I have bunyip and 99 def but I do own the shield. I will always say DFS > defender because it's true and it's extremely useful outside of slayer especially in GWD tanking and such. You'll be getting your moneys worth when you buy it because it's not just for slayer it's for just about everything out there. If your only comeback is more XP/hr then don't bother posting it because I'm not going to honor that fail counter arguement with a response.

I agree with everything in there, except that you're better off taking pineapple pizza's. They heal 22 in 2 bites and are about half the price of sharks.

 

 

 

Don't forget to use a combat familiar whenever you don't need your bunyip. If you can't summon a bunyip yet, get 68 asap.

The only task where my Bunyip can't keep up with the damage is Nechryaels. I can't afford a dfs, but I don't miss it. A Bunyip is all the 'defence' I need, and my Guthans armour is the armour I wear anyway. Equiping a spear and helm 2-3 times a task isn't that much of a hassle and Guthans has a lot of uses outside Slayer as well.

 

 

 

So the things I would buy with 36m:

 

 

 

- A set of Guthans (4.1m)

 

- 68 Summoning (5m?)

 

- Karamja diary 3 Gloves (100k for the gout tube :P )

 

- A godsword. It really helps with Abyssal demon and Gargoyle tasks, and it has a lot more uses outside of those than a dfs.

 

- Karil's top and bottom (800k) for the tasks that use mage-based attacks.

 

 

 

I personally never cannon, but it speeds up a lot of tasks. At a cost though. And don't forget your super sets and summoning potions.

Oh so she wants to use slayer to get charms? It makes perfect sense that she would want to slow down each kill to get an extra bit of unneeded defense.

Bunyips actually have a TIME limit, the number of them that you need is based on the time that it takes you to finish the task, and nothing else. So by using the shield you would, in theory need MORE bunyips. It's also not nice to change statistics to suit your argument, for future referrence.

 

There is no way that you will use more food AND guthans time, unless you're wasting the 7m or whatever guthans costs now that you payed to not have to waste food. Also you definately CAN have "too much" defense, or rather "too little" offense for the sake of "excessive" defense.

 

Balance is key, young one.

 

 

 

Personally I use an SGS but I have bunyip and 99 def but I do own the shield.

 

Personally, I use SGS, bandos, defender, and whatever pet or familiar I feel like having follow me(depending on whether it is multi combat or not, except against nechs, gargs...couple others), because if you manage your specs well you won't even need a bunyip *on most tasks.* I too own the shield, and it's uses inside slayer(which is the topic being posted about, mind you), are limited to wyvern, black dragons, and metal dragons for me (I range miths), and I really haven't noticed that much of a difference in any of them from when I was using an anti-fire shield. That is, other than wyverns of course, but they were blocked until the falador diary.

Outside of slayer? The ONLY situation outside of slayer where the DFS is the BEST item to use(no godswords) is ranging at sara(which is a dying art, sadly), killing the kbd(which is probably done more via slayer for people who can afford the shield), and arguably at arma, I personally preferr to use a zamorak book, because the 10 mage defense barely makes a difference, and it's not that hard to either ignore or avoid kilisa's attacks. 5 prayer is always nice though :thumbsup: Tanking? Guthans spear is two handed, and when you don't need the spear, you should be using a godsword. DKs? SGS rules here, but aww dang it's two handed isn't it? If you have any other invalid suggestions, feel free to throw em out there, I'm personally having trouble thinking of any other situations. If you want something that will make your money back, buy a BGS and camp at bandos with some random rsof teams for a week or so. Dragon hides and wyvern bones won't cut it.
