HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD WASTE MILLIONS OF GOLD FOR A POINTLESS SKILL. You cant even make money off it

Construction was one of my favourite skills. RuneScape is not all about making as much money as possible and hoarding it forever. What's the point of making money if you're not going to spend it? I enjoyed decorating my house to its full potential.

Well, what's the point of having tons of cash if you don't do something fun with it once in a while?

Hmm Lets have a look at what you can do with Construction...

 

 

 

level 47: An infinate Glory Teleport

 

Level 50: infinate teleports to Fally, Varrock, Lummy, Cammy, Canifis,Ardougne, Yanille

 

 

 

Level 75: Gilded alter which can give extra Prayer exp (depending on whether you have the good burners or not)

 

 

 

Level 94: a Steel Dragon of your very own (not exactly a Corporeal Beast, but it's probably the best your gonna get)

 

 

 

Level 99: a Maximum of 30 rooms. perfect for having an "i hit 99 in something" party.

 

 

 

I think it's faar from a waste of time and money, and It's purpose was to DRAIN money back in 2006 when Autoers were a big problem (and it gave people a reason to use their money)

Theres alot of people going for 99 Construction including myself when I get round to it.

Construction was one of my favourite skills. RuneScape is not all about making as much money as possible and hoarding it forever. What's the point of making money if you're not going to spend it? I enjoyed decorating my house to its full potential.

 

 

 

Holy [cabbage] well said. I absolutely hate this newer generation of rs players who fail to realize that this is just a GAME. You aren't supposed to save money like real life, you're supposed to spend it like crazy. Construction is one of the greatest skills ever because it appeals to that human need to spend.

 

 

 

I've "wasted" over 30M on my house (and that's not including leveling my con level), and I am proud of it. Gilded altar and workshop right next to portal, huge dungeon, awesome throne room, flame pits, combat ring... so much more. People have spent dozens of hours in my house and just seeing them enjoy it makes me happy.

 

 

 

Oh and some benefits of construction:

Tip.It needs to incorporate the "dumb thread" auto-ban from Something Awful, where a dumb thread is an instant permaban.

 

 

 

Give me admin on Tip.It and the RSOF for one day, I could clean it up with a single idiot culling:

 

 

 

"Don't post here or ban" with a permanent ban (with a ban on the IP for accounts created over the next week on that IP address) for anyone who posts. Easy, simple, effective. Other forums do it on a yearly basis to cull the numbers.

Construction has a crazy amount of uses, such as making prayer training 3x faster and barrows on ancients much easier. Not to mention this is a game, meant to be fun.

I just did over the weekend. I had a Saradomin Sword before then. Now, I have a Gilded altar.

 

 

 

Enjoy the game once and a while, you might like it.

You hate construction, I love construction: the rant cancels out and is complete spam.

Construction is loads of fun, one of my favorite skills. If I had more money I would get 99, even if that would bankrupt me I love it so much.

 

Also, try thinking out your rant a little better next time. A mere two sentences shows the lack of effort and thought you invested before mindlessly hating on the skill.

Construction was made as an epic money drain, dont train it if you dont want to. Just dont bag people who do train it, or bag the skill itself.

 

 

 

I find it a great skill, althought my level is only51 since I havent got around to training it lately, I still find it a smart skill which brings players together for a load of fun, its also very helpful to yourself and every other runescape player.

 

BTW, you make money from construction.

 

 

 

Terrorbird + clay + runes for house tele/other teles + cwars ring (+ house tele if you arent making them)

 

house tele, make xx teleports/tabs, get your terrorbird tabs, switch over to castle wars, bank repeat.

Construction has loads of uses, but the advantages basically stop after 75 with gilded altar (which in my opinion is overrated). After that, the stuff is just for show *cough*Demonthrone*cough*.

 

And though I don't endorse spending all of your money (how else would you repair barrows armor?), saving it like crazy so that you have 500 mill is ridiculous. Of course, in my opinion, instead of "wasting" cash on construction, "waste" it on summoning! the monsters just keep getting better with each level.

You *can* make money with it. You just need to know how; you can make a gilded altar at 75 wich will save you loads of money and time to raise prayer, if you want to go barrows for a while, believe me, without kharyls portal you're nowhere and it saves money in the long run, you can make lecterns, wich are used for making tabs, wich make can make a load of money.

 

And it isn't useless. Ever wanted somewhere to alch without randoms? In a plce that even looks good? Then you have to make a house for your own. Also, ever wanted to show of how a good slayer/fisher/cwer/quester you are? Then you should get a skill/quests hall.

 

You know, people have asking for YEARS for player-owned-houses, and you say it's useless now?! :shame:

 

oh also: it's construction, not 'contruction' like you said in the titla

Anyways, it is not a pointless skill. You can save lots of money with the teles, altars, and repair stands.

I have 90 construction and two crystal thrones.

"Dumb Thread" = Like this one, offers nothing. Permaban

 

"Wrong section" = 7 day ban and thread is moved/deleted.

 

"Troll" = Obvious troll posts. One offense can equal a permaban.

 

"[wagon]" = Makes asinine posts like Google's URL to get someone to search. Also a first offense permaban

 

"Banme" = Post serves nothing other than to get the post starter a ban. Permaban.

 

"Posting in a banme" = Anyone who replies to an obvious banme thread. Instant, permaban.

 

 

 

You can also get banned for several hours to several days at a time for the above, depending on who the moderator or admin is banning you. You can also get temp-banned for reposting an existing topic, complaining about mods (The forums are a democracy. Your choices are live with it or go away), predicting moderation (IE: In before lock/ban), and a whole host of other things that an admin may choose (IE: Not funny, image macro, missed ___ thread)

 

 

 

But the idiot culls are the best. Last year, they culled over 200 people with a simple poll. The third option was "HURR COMEDY" (Gets you banned)", everyone who chose it got permabanned. They ban hundreds every year with this, just because it's necessary to get rid of the idiots. Tip.It needs a culling.

That's amazing. Honestly. Mabye tip.it should have an IQ test before you get in, with a minimum of 130 scored. Then again, there would only be a couple people left. Mabye 120 or so would be a better balance.
