Are step-parents inherently evil?

Featured Replies

I say this because when your parents are divorced, its quite likely you won't want to see them with another "love" interest. So you might have preconceived ideas that the people are horribly.

But my dad is evil, and this new love interest he has is also a foul, evil hag. I mean really, she truly makes me sick, and I have to control myself from throttling her and choking her. One day though, one day. I'm waiting for some interesting scenarios to suit the case though, because I've only met her recently.

But it raises the question- Are step parents always horrible?

Mine's alright. I believe that step parents should not just adopt the power of parenting just because they marry. It causes me to become stressed when my step father tries telling me what to do or attempts to tell me off, and the fact that my mother allows it really irritates.

But in general he's a nice guy who I've known for many years. I just dislike the nasty side of it. Though then again if he were my actual dad I guess I'd have no problem and just think it to be normal. :?

My stepdad was an evil [bleep]. Used to spend his money and gambling etc. and not help pay the bills and stuff. Yeah didn't like him much.. except when he used to try to bribe me with cheap gifts.

So yea, all stepparents are evil.

Hello friend, Senajitkaushik was epic, Good luck bro.

Most of my friends' step parents are more loved than the actual parents. One of my friends despises her real mom, but loves her dad's girlfriend. Another girl I know gave her mother's boyfriend permission to propose.

Like a Disney movie!

But my parents are, happily, together.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

my step dad was nice.

then he died. :(

I never had a step-parenet but this one guy my mum was thinking of marrying was a complete bastard, I lost track of the number of times I was going to punch him :uhh:

i think if you did punch him, he would have cried, and your mom would have hated him. so punching people is good.

I think i was lucky, because my step dad was nice, and he bought me clothes when my mum was too poor to buy me clothes.

My step-dad is sound, pretty much fixed my family.

Some are, some aren't. It takes a lot of guts to walk in on a new family and try to raise them like they were your own. Not only that some kids will be extremely territorial and will never accept the other person in fear they're taking their mother or fathers place. Some step parents lose the battle before they even get a chance and others are the step parents from hell.

The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.

Agreed, my mom was a wreck before she met him, now lifes "good"

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

My step-dad is one of the coolest adults I know, but my step-mom is the re-incarnation of hell.

And if she's bad now, it'll get worse after marriage. :|

Wait, how can you have both  I must be missing something.

Dad marries a woman, mom marries a man.

Or maybe all of them get divorced, and then marry other people. And you like them all. So you have FOUR sets of parents. That means EIGHT sets of grandparents.

Tbh, I dont have a step parent, but it'd just piss me off so badly just having someone boss you around; when they dont really have a right to do so. They are in place of your mum/dad, yes, but they arent your mum/dad.

Also, anyone who calls their step parents dad or mum, wtf :|

I dont need a siggy no moar.

No, they're just people and every person has the potential to be wonderful or horrible. The one step parent I got to know pretty well (not mine, but a friend's) is really nice.

Uhh I've never had parents divorce or anything, but wouldn't you then have two sets of parents? So then four sets of grandparents?

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

I have a a step-great-grandmother if that counts. She's nice even though I was nowhere near existence when my real great-grandmother was alive.

Ah, of course. If you stayed with the other step parent from a previous marriage, just seemed like an unlikely scenario.

You just blew my mind.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

My mum married a guy, he wasn't too bad, but he did get a bit 'evil' as you have said. They broke up eventually.

Nearly married again, this one, he was really nice, but they fought and the wedding didn't go ahead.

Adn now my mum is with another man, he's cool. And my mum and him are really happy together.

luckily for me nobody else can stand being around my old man for more than a month, so i've never had a chance to find out.

but it means my old man only has one person to [bleep] and whine about.

My parents are happily together. Even with...*starts counting* a gazillion kids?

lampost_sig_stark.png

Maybe it's just like dealing with mom/dad the step parents side. They can't handle it all. So they unleash it all on the kids (Always a bad idea). Maybe it's that maybe it's not... But I don't have step parents so I wouldn't know what I'm talking about but that's my idea.

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.
