January 31, 200917 yr You'll never meet an actual Irish person drinking an Irish coffee, for the simple reason it tastes like [cabbage]. I can't stand any alcoholic coffee, yet to come across one which actually tastes decent. God damn stereotypes  You know Irish coffee has Irish whiskey in it, right? I mean, try to imagine Bourbon coffee, yuck. Beer

Quite obviously yes, but just because it's called "Irish" simply due to the fact there's Whiskey in it doesn't mean it's that wholly Irish, it's not popular here at all.

I guess I just don't get where the angst is coming from. It gets its name because it was created in Ireland using Irish whiskey, neither of those suggest popularity of the drink. Beer
February 1, 200917 yr Author You'll never meet an actual Irish person drinking an Irish coffee, for the simple reason it tastes like [cabbage]. I can't stand any alcoholic coffee, yet to come across one which actually tastes decent. God damn stereotypes  You know Irish coffee has Irish whiskey in it, right? Quite obviously yes, but just because it's called "Irish" simply due to the fact there's Whiskey in it doesn't mean it's that wholly Irish, it's not popular here at all. So because you don't like it, that automatically qualifies it as a drink that every Irishman hates? Like Quoi_Tu said, it's called Irish Coffee because it originated from Ireland, so clearly people drank it. I don't see why you're getting so angry about it, we didn't make any disparaging comments...
February 1, 200917 yr I've actually had a nice rhubarb white wine last Thanksgiving. It was actually tangy and sweet. It was nice. I usually stay away from fine wines, mainly because they're usually too expensive for my taste. Then again, I don't drink much of anything too often.
