January 27, 200917 yr Woot, Teleblock became F2P today... That's one less thing a F2P mage needs \ . Maybe I should go teleblock noobs who don't read updates... That'll give em a scare  ~Fire cape achieved at combat lvl 80~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~
January 27, 200917 yr teleblock is nice, I always thought ftp needed something like it. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
January 30, 200917 yr Teleblock added already lets hope they catch on and give us snare and at lest 1 more spell
January 30, 200917 yr Author Woot, teleblock. I need to use a wizard mind bomb to cast it at the moment though  . I still think snare or a spell like snare is needed.
February 1, 200917 yr Well, I didn't intend DoubleCast to help out F2P when I originally wrote it, but I suppose it could. (Actually I didn't want the thread being bogged down with "F2P should pay, so no DoubleCasting") Here's the link, its in the bugs and suggestions. viewtopic.php?f=37&t=781401 99 dungeoneering achieved, thanks to everyone that celebrated with me! ♪♪ Don't interrupt me as I struggle to complete this thoughtHave some respect for someone more forgetful than yourself ♪♪♪♪ And I'm not doneAnd I won't be till my head falls off ♪♪
February 1, 200917 yr Author Methinks double-casting may be a little overpowerd, lol. I've just gone on my first clan PK Trip after the release of teleblock, and it hasn't been that great. This is partially because not many people have it (not Jagex's fault), and partly because it splashes so much. This in turn is due to two things: - players using green dragonhide armour even when meleeing when they used to use rune - the pathetic magic bonus that F2P magicians have to deal with. Sure, it's not so bad when you can use druidic, but every death means you have to spend 2-3 hours getting the 200 tokens to recharge it again. I think the second point needs addressing.

I think the 1st point needs adressing as well. The fact is, f2p mage completely fails in 1v1 situations right now, even against melee. +45 accuracy shreds through a sad +3 defence from combat robes, which have the best melee defence in f2p. Mage hybrids fail, since putting on rune destroys any bonus the robes give. And if a warrior puts on a d hide top, you may as well punch them or switch styles. How come warriors aren't penalized for wearing d'hide? In my opionion, either d'hide needs to give negative melee bonuses, or those robes need a defence boost so that mages don't look like free xp
February 2, 200917 yr Author so that mages don't look like free xpSounds so harsh, but it is so true. Mages are always the first piled (although I don't usually die to that). Ironically, magic is the only combat style which guarantees your opponent taking off their armour and using a protection prayer.
February 2, 200917 yr Magic just costs too much; runes, tokens for robes etc. The armour could do with a boost too but probably just against meleeers to keep the "combat triangle" balenced.
February 2, 200917 yr I hate how the FoG items degrade... theyre not worth it. Whereas for Barrows items, they are. I used to use the white robes set, the green dhide coif, and rune zerker shield when the minigame came out and I was F2P at the time, but now Im only planning to use just the Rune Gauntlets when I become F2P again. It would be nice if all the items from the minigame degrades like rune gauntlets, where it degrades fully after death. But I dont think Wave Spells should be released to F2P. This would mean giving F2P blood runes, and leaving no attack spells/runes exclusively for P2Ps on the normal spellbook. As for Snare, I agree. It still leaved Entangle for P2P, and the required runes are already F2P.
February 4, 200917 yr Author I'm wondering though... What if Members got access to the God spells? You mean non-members? Magic just costs too much; runes, tokens for robes etc. The armour could do with a boost too but probably just against meleeers to keep the "combat triangle" balenced.Agreed about the armour, but theres no viable solution about the cost of runes.

Let us craft nats. Or let members craft nats&deaths&laws&chaos easier. I love p2p.

Well I don't see how can craft them faster than teletabbing to the altar, craft the runes and teleport back to bank like they can at the moment.
February 4, 200917 yr It would be nice if all the items from the minigame degrades like rune gauntlets, where it degrades fully after death. Agreed. It would make life a lot easier for F2p magers, especially with those annoying 200 tokens for druidic robes -.- Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.
February 24, 200917 yr i think god spells whould defently make mage in f2p too powerful and also then f2p whould need blood runes and access to new areas of the wild so it defently wont happen. The spells are fine with the additon of telly block i think only armor needs to be updated and also if you use the rcing robes you might find you will do fine against meleers. i personaly have 70 def and 81 mage and i can still kill people around my level even when they are wearing d hide in f2p and while i havent done this in pvp i have in the duel arena and in clan wars. also if anyone wants to test this on me ill be happy to obblige just tell me your name and ill add u and we can set up some duels for testing. Words are only interpertaions of opinions.
February 25, 200917 yr Wave spells + snare, good enough for me. F2p mages don't need armor, thats almost certain. O.O
March 22, 200917 yr snare is definitely needed. Perhaps a reduction of the number of tokens needed to recharge/buy FoG armor? Anyway, now mages already have teleblock, but it definitely doesn't mean they aren't still underpowered. Click here for an awesome suggestion to revive smithing!
March 22, 200917 yr Teleblocks hardly going to win fights it will just stop them from teleporting IF you win the fight. =D. O.O
March 23, 200917 yr Lol. If the person can't teleport, he runs into a safespot.... Click here for an awesome suggestion to revive smithing!
March 24, 200917 yr Mages work better in a team rather than solo. Acces to wave spells would mean giving F2P blood runes would be... well a lot of economy fluctuation. Maybe give something like splitbark armor to f2p. ~Less QQ, Moar Pew Pew~ I don't know how anyone would have thought to make a seagull launcher out of a shirt and an accordion for Rocking Out though... That just seems too out there
March 24, 200917 yr I think f2p mages could do well if they had battle robes(Does anyone on members use these? :| ),snare, and wave spells if blood runes where a more common drop on pvp or somthing else to make the supply balance out the new found demand. I also see nothing wrong with letting f2pers at least craft chaos, they're rarly crafted on members anyways from what i hear.
March 24, 200917 yr I think f2p mages could do well if they had battle robes(Does anyone on members use these? :| ) I've never seen them used in all the time I've been pvping (although I tend to keep my eye on other pures). Even in safe pvp like clan wars/ duel arena I haven't seen them used.
March 26, 200917 yr Ive never even seen them worn -.- . I don't think they are worth tons of tokens, which would probably cost more time than it would take to make the money for full ahrims, AND the fact they are worse and need recharging. O.O
