Okay so a friend told me about a way to get easy mage exp...

 

 

 

Basically you and you're friends buy a whole lot of mind runes then go to Duel Arena with full black D'hide and air battlestaff, challenge each other, and then autocast windstrike on each other, and neither of you get hit at all because of your armour.

 

 

 

Then you do whatever and come back like a day later, or however long it takes to use all the runes, and you get a bunch of easy exp, because if you use 1M mind runes which costs 9-10M gp, then you get 6 exp per cast so that's 6M exp.

 

 

 

Anyway it sounds interesting but I don't wanna get myself banned doing it.

Edit: Oh yea and I forgot to mention that it also helps the people trying to sell their mind runes on the Grand Exchange, because it's basically impossible to sell them there. So it's like good for everybody haha.

It's not illegal if you stay on the computer and like, watch the screen or whatever. It is illegal if you go do something else. Fact is, Jagex can't distinguish between the two. So you won't be in trouble.

 

 

 

I wouldn't advice afk'ing though. Just go watch Youtube vids or whatever.

You get 6 exp for casting windstrike whether you hit them or not, then you get that added to four times whatever you hit...

 

 

 

so if you hit a 5 you would get... 5x4 = 20, 20+6 = 26 Exp, and if you hit a 0 you would just get the 6 exp

Well the theory is that the fact you can be afk would make up for it. I mean, if you put a pen on the spacebar it won't log you out at all, and I don't think you can get randoms while dueling.

That's horribly slow xp, and it's against the rules if you're away from the computer. I would rather alch or something.

 

Don't you get random events in the duel arena? If not, something needs to be changed so you do after about 10 minutes.

I agree, but this would cost one mind rune for every lets say 7xp so 18mil(minds are 9each i believe). I think just earning money and bursting would turn out being better, and since afking overnight is badly against the rules this isnt that useful. I guess if you really wanted to chat while mage training though this wouldnt be that bad.

well you always hit 0 anyways if you're wearing Black D'hide, I just said 5 for an example, I guess you knew that it hits 2 because you're a lvl one mager who uses windstrike, haha jk,

 

 

 

also you only get 2xp if you train defence at the same time, but if you just cast spells normally you get 4xp per hit

 

 

 

edit- that's true you can only buy 25K every 4 hours so that means you can buy 150K per day.

I don't see it being something they could get you for, but that would be such a horribly inefficient way of training... :|

Well, Earth Strike would be the best, however failing this way IS the best mage AFK exp, as there are no complications, and you never need to check.

Methinks theres a cap on lengths of fights in the duel arena of about 30-60 mins? Or am I thinking of something else...

what if you "accidentaly" fall asleep at your computer while doing this? You wouldn't get in trouble for falling asleep at the computer would you? Also you're rigiht sometimes mind runes do sell.

Number one AFK is against the rules so please dont do it, number two it does seem very inefficent, there are better ways to do this. I understand what you are saying about it being good for afk but it is in my oppinion too risky to try for the exp you would get in the time they allow you to stay in the duel arena. If you do this, not to be mean, but it would be very funny if you and your fiend got creamed by a random, if thats possible in there, and lost all your mind runes.

Technically if your asleep next to your computer your not afk, but if your afking then it is breaking the rules and i'd personally say, doing this is as bad as using a bot/autoing the levels, and should be temp banned if you do it.
