I'm guessing digital TV broadcasts are going to start or analog broadcasts stop in some country these people are from.

Edit: It appears to be the US.

The US was supposed to stop all analog broadcast tomorrow I believe, when Obama got into office he had it delayed to give Americans more time to buy convertor boxes. So after spending a whole year advertising when it would switch they changed the date. A good amount of channels are still switching tomorrow to avoid confusion

There's the answer to all the confusion.

That's not too bad. In Finland we postponed the end of analog TV by several months, although we did start the digital broadcasts on time as I remember and just had a big six year time window for the purchasing of convertor boxes. The shops still ran out of the boxes when everybody started buying them a couple of weeks before the analog broadcasts stopped.

My networks change today, thank God. I was getting sick of all the advertisements.

I know one thing for sure, I'm not buying the box. If the cable company wants to keep me as a costumer, they will have to give the box. Anyway, in Canada, the change is just in 2011 iirc.

This has nothing to do with cable, it only affects OTA transmissions.

Unless you receive TV through an antennae you have nothing to worry about...

That's what everyone is saying, but when Fox did their little digital test a week ago mine failed :?

That stupid box seems like a crock. My buddy got one at his apartment and yeah the picture comes in better but he says you either have full reception or none, and that it is not worth it. Seems pointless too me, and they keep pushing the date back further -.-
