Title says all, why do you play Runescape?

I ask this because as I was playing today, I thought: "Why am I playing this?"

I realized I hate this game. It's no fun, there's nothing to do at lvl 87. It's weird, but it's like.. as much as I hate it, I want to be good at it (escpecially considering 100+ is when the game actually gets... playable.

Once you're 100 you'll realize you want to do stuff that needs a higher combat. Seriously, I think that's what keeps me going. There's always something to do a higher levels that I can't do yet, so I want to be able to do it.

Besides that, I think it's fun too.

I used to play for fun, now I'm playing cause I feel I have to.

Sometimes I just stand at the Grand Exchange for an hour not doing anything, not talking, not moving, just totally paralized :S

I guess that means I truly need to take it slow and gradually say goodbye to the game I've always loved :(

I play because rl is really cold right now.

Srsly.

I'll probably play less in the summer, because I'll be too busy dancing around underneath a sprinkler to go inside and play.

... Okay, maybe not.

'Cause I can, 'cause I want to, 'cause it's, for some odd reason, really fun to run around the desert or the wildy for a penguin, or run into a level 304 dragons' lair with nothing but a pack of swordfish and an anti-dragon shield, or run into the GWD with a pack of random food I pulled out of my bank and an empty vial that used to contain a strength potion and I cba to drop it... and I 'drop' it anyway because I died... And all the while I'm in a clan chat laughing at myself as I detail my insane exploits. Or maybe I'm finding joy in things like barely escaping from a revenant when it fires at me as soon as I step that one square north of the Ditch, and then excitedly typing 'w00t I got away from a revvie i am awesome bwahahaaa' and getting 'lol grats' in response, or perhaps it's more the relaxing bits, when I'm growing potatoes and then boggling at how many I have after a day of work, and telling everyone in the clan chat I'm in that I have almost 200 potatoes and how the heck did I GET so many what the heck...

And sometimes the monotony is actually rather soothing. Especially Agility. I just take a dramen staff, my clockwork suit, and 26 pineapple pizzas, go to DKS, travel to the penguin hideout, 'tuxedo-time', then head off to the agility course and turn my brain off. Or read a book, but usually I turn my brain off.

Hmm... I notice a pattern. In all my examples, besides the agility one (which also happens to be my technique for power-leveling Agility since I cba to risk my stuff to go to the wilderness course), I mention TALKING TO PEOPLE. Yah, it's sometimes fun to go around by myself, but having people to talk to, or just knowing that I have people to talk to if I want to and they don't insist that I talk, is awesome. Dunno how I managed almost 4 and a half years without talking much, if at all...

Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.

Canada can't be second rate, polar bears are their main mode of transportation.
