trapical
Me and my High School friend used to sit around in class and have conversations about normal things but the game was every sentance needed a word people never/rarely hear. We started out using stuff like "hence" "ergo" and "quid-pro-quo" stuff that most people know. However as the year progressed we found/used bigger and rarer words. Here are my all time 3 favorite Plethora (pleth-a-rah) - A superabundance; an excess. "Oh my, notes on pages 312-340 due tomorrow? Thats a lot of homework... I say that may even be a plethora of work" Detritus (deh-tri-tus) - Loose rock (lol). "Hmm, it appears I must have walked on a gravel road, for I have much detritus stuck to my shoe" Steatopygia (s-tea-at-a-pit-i-ah) - An extreme accumulation of fat on the buttocks (aka, a plethora sized butt) :P. "Dude, check it out, that chick totally has Steatopygia" otherwise known as a plethora of fat. So yea, there fun to use. Anyone know any other spiffy words? MrBiffo
I've used plethora and detritus several times before, but I don't think I see myself ever saying "Steatopygia" =p

Bmw
I've used Detrius quite a lot in Science class  What about....facetious? I think thats a pretty cool word, and I haven't really heard anyone use it (aside from tv). Intended to be humorous but often silly or inappropriate
Rizla
Maybe not a rare word but 'satsuma' is clearly the greatest word in the English language. I am not open to debate on this subject. Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.
Futurama
Seem to struggle to get "Please" or "Thanks" said from anyone where i live. Us "teenagers" are so arrogant that nobody actually pays attention when we're polite.

trapical
Plethora is quite common. Well I hear it quite a lot. Fester is common too. I know, plethora is getting used more and more everyday  err, actually I'm not sure if thats a sad thought or a happy one, its cool that its getting popular but I always considered it to be like 'my' word. Hmm, quite a conundrum :?

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack. Crim_nimora
Ahh I had so many a few days ago, when I was in the 8th grade we had to do we had around 800 words (damn advanced classes) and none of them were easy to remeber. forgot most but heres a few lets see who can compete :) Funabulist-tightrope walker Equilibrist-also tightrope walker Terrafirma-firm land Apostasy-desertion of principle Hedonism-devotion to pleasure Mannumission-realease from slavery Colloquy- conversation Incoloparentis-in place of parents phyiognomly-facial charector costermonger-vegetable vendor saturnine-gloomy and remote gynocrasy-goverment of women psuedonym-false name aquiline-eaglelike mobocrasy-goverment controlled by a mafia nepotism-favoritism of relatives I have to say hedonism is my favorite. I had them all on papers but found them in my basement 3 days ago and tossed 'em. Ahh well you guys try remebering 800 words of that difficulty in less than a year, while doing algebra 2 (with a psycho [bleep] who broke both her legs and never missed a day), and do it hungover. ...wonder why I passed...
