We all know how Jagex loves revealing hints to through their art. It's happened over 3 times with the Dragon Platebody. Now, they seem to have done so again, for the Eastern lands.

Since our graphical update earlier in the year, weve been playing around with a variety of new haircuts for the game. Weve now gathered around 20 new styles and will be releasing them during December to the free and members games. These new hairdos include some rather interesting styles inspired by AkHaranu, a visitor from the unexplored eastern realms. Perhaps next year will unearth more fashions from these interesting folk? Only time will tell...

I think that it might point towards the eastern lands, but the chances are greater that it doesnt

 

And it still doesnt mean its coming soon. Might just be some concept art of what the NPC's might look like, that somehow made its way into the image to get us all excited.

All linked RuneScape picture URL's are 404's. Refreshing usually doesn't fix the page, but going to that page a second time when you're already there usually does.

Hmm at first I thought it was just mystic robes but then again if you look at the Triple Trouble wallpaper, that mage is wearing mystic robes and it looks way different than what the female is wearing in the Evil Tree wallpaper.

Her robes clearly look like the Elindis robes, though they obviously aren't a perfect match but the artwork > real game never quit matches

 

Equally from the shoulders, large chunk and two narrow chunks behind her she is wearing a skill cape.

 

 

 

Shocking alot of people where trimmed fishing capes with elindis robes as they match very well.

 

 

 

As for what she's weilding since the top is hidden behind the foreground guy there is no reason to suspect is a katana, it's an axe we jsut can't see the head cause of the foreground guy.

Either way, unless it was a new quest coming in the semi-immediate future, I highly doubt Jagex would pull up obscure robes from an old quest for their artwork.

Whoops. I read the format wrong on the date I had on the picture. 6/9/07, not 9/6/07. Either way, still six months to two years.

well the robe is mystic in my opinion, but did notice something 'bout the hair... there seem to be 3 "flaps" on her back, 2 being the skillcape (or quest hard to say), and a third one; maybe her hair is that long? then it definitely is a new haircut...because none are that long as of now

As a better example, does anyone remember close to two years ago when Jagex revealed land on the mini-map west of priffindas? Everyone went absolutely ape-[bleep] about how the update was coming by the end of the year. Nothing so far.

I'm sure it was probably something unintentional. I bet they have bits of land spread out everywhere waiting for actual content to be put there. Probably just a misplaced line of code though.
