Dexter

I've seen season one. I thought it was pretty good but I'm starting to lose faith in Showtime. All their tv series like Weeds and Califorication I used to enjoy and now they're all lost their touch.

Dexter was said to be one of the shows bringing showtime back to decency.

Just about to finish season 3.

Gotta' say, it's quite straightforward - no twists or surprises like 1 & 2. But certainly enjoyable.

I'm going by TV so I'm only like.. 3 or 4 eps into season 3.

Spoiler:

[hide=]The one where Dexter starts to get Miguels brother (bald one) in deep crap to get him out of the picture[/hide]

I dont need a siggy no moar.

As in it finds an easy way out. Deus ex machina, it may be called.

:-k...

Wait, so the serial killer is the GOOD GUY? :?

Yep, that makes it interesting. He kills bad people, so it proves 2 wrongs do make a right.

Thought he killed bad people :P if he killed good people and was the good guy I'd be like "lol wut?"

There's a lot of things that they can do with Dexter, but are just savouring for the last several seasons, like him following the downward spiral of a serial killer, or killing an innocent person that doesn't fit his code...etc. This is why Season 1 and 2 were so fulfilling because such types of conflicts about a serial killer were presented - him killing someone he 'loved', challenging the boundaries of his code...etc.

In Season 3 though it was repeating these conflicts in a different skin. It was boring and didn't have the twists and turns we had come to expect.

Season four though, was definitely built upon the storyline of Season 3, and to be honest a family dad perspective is going to be killer for Dexter. Adds a lot more to the scenario than what we'd come to think.

Then again, Season 4 episode 1 left us a cliffhanger, that Dexter will probably shrug off by Episode 3, and not have any effect at all on the future storyline. Hollywood cliffhangers ftw! That or I'm totally wrong, but it would follow suit.

And I also think the episode was leaked on purpose and that cliffhanger is being milked.

It's starting to get a little old. They did introduce something in season 4 that was big enough to change the story, but it still just feels like the same stuff over and over.

I feel its the same with ever Showtime show. All the shows on Showtime seem to dry up and become repetitive after a couple seasons. I can't really say I've enjoyed many of their shows past a second season.

Season 4 is shaping up to be a good season. A lot of cliffhangers from the first two episodes haven't been resolved, and as long as it impacts the storyline and characters a lot through-out this season, then it should be a new experience.

Season 3 was a let down though, they pulled that storyline out of their cactus's.

Yes I did its going to be pretty hard to come up with how the Storyline plays out after "they" die.

I'm sure it's already written. Some parts of the show may have been weak, but the characters actually grow (just take a look at Debra, I used to hate her in earlier seasons but she's different now) and the main plot has a structure.

This season was played out extremely well, I enjoyed it quite a bit more then last season. The finale this season had quite the twist on it as well I almost couldn't believe it at first, I hope they'll be able to out do themselves with next years storyline/antagonist; John Lithgow played the part perfectly.

I just spent all day watching season 4 (yes, this is what I do on vacation) and I must say, WOW. I'm completely blown away. They sure did make up for season 3... not quite as good or fresh as the first season but definitely the runner up for best season. The ending was just wowomg

WOWOMG
