The Gielinor Tribune, the oldest Player-made Runescape Newspaper on Tip.it (excluding the Tip.it times) has been producing Newspaper Editions since May 2007. After a few months break for our staff, the Gielinor Tribune is returning under a new name!

Positions available:

 

 

 

Writing Positions

 

- Columnist

 

These guys write commentaries or critiques about Runescape - whether it be the lastest update, the state of the economy or how the "community" of RS is and where you think its headed - these articles will keep you informed and interested about Runescape. They can write on just about anything Runescape related. *Requirements:* Much experience in writing and research, excellent spelling and grammar, a good attitude, plenty of extra time, a love for Runescape, and a active Runescape account (not banned and you are still able to log in).

 

 

 

- Creative Writer

 

Creative Writers write short (emphasis on short), entertaining stories to be published in the Journal. The stories can be dramatic, adventurous, funny, and entertaining. All stories are fictional (not related to "real life" at all - have like magic, dragons, strange lands, ect) but they don't necessarily have to be set in Runescape so feel free to run wild with your imagination! *Requirements:* Experience in writing stories, excellent spelling and grammar, a big imagination, a good attitude, plenty of extra time, and a love for fantasy.

 

 

 

- Advice Columnist

 

These guys take a particular subject (a quest, a skill, ect) and give our readers step by step instruction on the best and fastest way to succeed in whatever they needed help in. They also frequently answer questions sent in asking for help from them. *Requirements:* Much experience in research, a Runescape account with membership, lots of extra time, a desire to help, and you must have played Runescape for quite some time.

 

 

 

Other Positions

 

- Comic & Games Artist

 

These guys create comic strips and games that'll make you really laugh out loud or just let you enjoy a little game for a bit. *Requirements:* Experience in graphic design, a big sense of humor, plenty of extra time, and lots of creative ideas.

 

 

 

- Graphic Designer

 

*Requirements*: Very much experience in graphic design, Photoshop/Gimp/Some other program, and a little extra time.

 

 

 

Management Positions

 

 

 

- Associate Editor

 

"Co-Managers" of the Journal, they help the Editor in Chief run the show. With the rest of the Management they work on such things as: Reviewing/Accepting/Declining Applications, Reviewing Staff submissions (all articles and work), Working on each Edition, Moderating the Forums, Working with various publishers and advertisers, ect, ect. Associate Editor's (with the rest of the Management) are in charge of getting each Edition ready (lots of work involved there) and keeping the Journal cosistently growing to be better and better.

 

*Requirements:* Much experience in communications, high level of professionalism, high organizational skills, large amounts of extra time, exellent spelling and grammar, a strong attention to every detail in every thing, an active Runescape account, a love for the game, and the initiative to move forward with new ideas.

I'd like to apply for a columnist position, however I am unsure as to whether or not you want someone like me. I've played since the start of Runescape, but on the whole, very casually. I still don't have a 99, but I feel I could offer a lot more to the current mid/high level runescape community, than someone with complete 99s and quests.

It has been discussed, and this is staying where it is. The old newspapers were permitted here and nothing has changed since to mean that this one shouldn't.

We're usually bi-weekly (every two weeks) publication but of course real life responsibilities are more important so we're very flexible with our staff, if your really interested you should fill out and post an application and we'll discuss everything there.
