April 3, 200917 yr Just expanding on death metal a bit, I'd say Decapitated got me into tech death and Suffocation got me into brutal death metal. Two great bands that I still love.
April 3, 200917 yr I'm gonna sound kinda lame here, but my friend got me into Slipknot in year 6, I then started listening to Korn too.. Start of year 8, (last year) I heard Bullet for my Valentine, and got into metalcore, then I started to play GH3 around mid 08 and got into In Flames, and hated dragonforce, so now I'm into the gothenburg sound kinda/mostly. I dont need a siggy no moar.
April 3, 200917 yr Iron Horse got me into bluegrass today. Interesting that some bluegrass covers can take one down to the SOUTHLAND. Yeeee, haw. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
April 4, 200917 yr I had an old Chicago CD that I'd listen to on trips... that set me into Elton John, then Fleetwood Mac, then Doobie Brothers... and so on. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009

April 7, 200917 yr It started for me when Within Temptation's Ice Queen topped the charts in The Netherlands. It spawned a minor "goth" fad (I was too much of a dork to participate in that beyond the music :P), but after it died down I continued to listen to the album. Eventually I moved on to other metal bands, at first exclusively with female vocals, but later on other stuff to. Also, Within Temptation's first album (Enter), which I didn't hear until 2003, was probably what helped me learn to enjoy grunting vocals. April 7, 200917 yr i was at a rave about a year ago and i heard 'f**k the millenium' by scooter whilst tripping and it was awesome. i got in to melodic death metal by having to learn the air that i breathe by ATR. and then i heard propane nightmares by pendulum and it was like a very trippy christmas, easter, and a few birthdays all rolled into one god must be a builder. his original quote said six days, he didnt finish on time, he buggered off, didnt make a good job of it in the first place, and he still hasnt finished.

April 26, 200917 yr R.E.M. got me interested in music and rock. i have been listening to them since i was 5 because my dad was a huge fan...and i haven't stopped either. R.E.M. introduced me to rock, but not really any new bands. The Beatles, another band i heard constantly throughout my childhood, were th eband that really introduced me to my classic rock interests...then Radiohead lead me appreciate Indie. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
April 26, 200917 yr Its hard to say for me really. The first metal I really listened to was DragonForce (and at that time, I hadn't played GH3), I like Operation Ground and Pound and Revolution Deathsquad. Didn't care much for TtFaF. Of course, at that point I didn't listen too it much, then I checked out a few bands I had heard about on here (Alexisonfire and same others), or maybe I had heard Blinded in Chains by Avenged Sevenfold first, I don't really know. Though generally, I'd suppose I'd say it was the Crimson Thunder album by HammerFall that started to get me more interested in Metal as a whole, perhaps even music as a whole (I had stopped caring for a year or two, before which I mainly listened to Eminem).
