going past level 99

I am curious since many of my skills are reaching 99 will this ever be changed to advance to higher than that. And if that answer is no then what about giving bonuses for xp accomplishments as in 50 million xp in a skill a big bonus 100 million again 200 million a huge bonus. I hate having this limit (99) which is quite easy to achieve, there are other games that dont have limits, as more and more people get to 99 in many skills i am sure they will feel this way also thanks

Most likely not, because it would ruin the balance of the game. And people get either 200m xp because they enjoy the skill, or because they want ranks because they are maxed out.

You say level 99 is quite easy to achieve? I beg to differ. I've played mmos where it's easier to max your character out than it is to get a single level 99 on runescape.

Also I think there are a couple of issues with increasing the level cap. For one, there are still skills where there are only new things unlocked up to between level 80-90. Why increase the cap when you still have work to do on the existing skill levels? Secondly, we have the skillcapes. Tons of people have already earned these, but if you changed the max level, you'd either have to take them away or leave it at level 99, which suddenly seems like kind of an awkward level when the cap is at 126. Level 100 would make more sense, but then you'd have a lot of angry people if they all of the sudden had to get 1.3m exp to get their capes back.

i agree with your comments what i really meant was will we never see this change? 5 years from now 10years from now eventually there will be more people wondering this. id like to hear an actual jagex programmer say "no this will never happen"

Actually; don't have the quote, so don't ask; but I think I've heard a Jmod say once that it was unlikely but a possibility. Of course in Jagex language that means like years away to possibly never, but they still could do it, you never know. ;)

I thought of this for years. But then it hit me: Jagex made the cap of 99 for a reason, so why not complain about it and let them choose it themselves. It is their game. Besides, 27 99's is harder to get than a 80 on WoW. There is certain aspects I miss from Runescape, but WoW really is fun for the combat and people who liked to Monster Hunt in RS.

It IS easy to get a 99, I don't see anything difficult about clicking the same spots and doing the same thing over and over again. What makes you think it is so hard is the time taken to get a 99, it may be tedious and that makes it hard to stick with.

You could try to max out the other things that arent level related.

Complete the champions challenge, get full void sets, get an abyssal demon pet, get 4000 chompy kills, get 500 vyrewatch kills, unlock all the white knight's armory, buy some naval regalia.. and so on. There is a lot more to do in runescape acheivementwise than just levels.

trojann2 thats kinda my point about this whole post is you are retired and went to WoW and im sure many others have (maybe because the 99 limit), but they would all come running back to runescape if they ever saw that level 200 is now attainable (sp)

Most things in the game jagex are willing to chnage have changed once or more over the years.

Rs has been out for what like 8 years, since the day it was released the level cap was at 99 and it takes hundreds of hours to get a lvl 99 skill. The process of trianing may be "easy" but the time factor and bordem factor and tedium factor make it hard.

There's no good reason for them to raise it anytime soon.

I mean there only 167 maxed players out of well over 1 million and 99% of them only got it this year

So any Jmods interested in answering this? (wonder if there are others who have thought of this for the future of their runescape play?)

this is a fansite. Jmods post on the RSOF.

if they increased the cap they would have to change the entire dynamics of the game. It won't happen.

and for beloved i just wanted to respond thats the reason that there are skills that need fixing that are useless at 80 or so because they have just added many new skills instead of making the existing skills worth raising. I say stop adding new skills fix all the existing ones until folks wanna raise them to 99 then make it go to 200 or so

Training past 13m xp (99) is done by 3 different ways. You have the people who train it just for a rank on hiscores. Then you have the people who train it just because they like the skill. The third way is one everyday does, it's just the fact you get xp from your daily runescape routine.

what do you do when you complete a game? You find other ways to entertain yourself (could still be using the game), or wait for a sequel. you dont throw the disc at the programmers and say "make it harder pl0X", when it gets to the point when every noob is maxed (uh dont see how that works :? ) runescape will much likely have a sequel.

Yeah, because tipit is just crawling with Jmods eager to answer questions here.

Currently the only point of going above 99 is for a good spot on the hiscores. If you really want to know what a j mod said about this, here goes.

About two years ago the #1 fletcher who was at 200m exp made a rant on rsof wanting a higher xp limit. A J mod later responded saying the 200m limit would remain for a while and that they would only reconsider changing this if more players hit max. Today not many skills hit the 200m limit and those that did only have a few maxed players. So until we start seeing several hundred players with 200m in several skills, I doubt Jagex will feel the need to change the max.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.
