You should never do something that you're not comfortable with doing, and even if you do decide to do it, you should never follow through with it before doing thorough research, learning about side-effects, proper care/treatment, etc. If you had done a 2 second search on Google (I found Wikipedia), you would have found: The American Dental Association (ADA) has cited a few other potential risks specific to oral piercings: severe bleeding or nerve damage if pierced incorrectly by an inexperienced person, the tongue could swell large enough to close off the airway, some jewelry may come loose in the mouth, creating a choking hazard, and the jewelry may interfere with one's speech, depending on where it's placed in the tongue.[7] Aftercare As with most Oral piercings, They tend to heal much faster than most. Properly cleansing your newly pierced tongue is the most vital and important thing you can possibly do. After every meal or beverage (with the exception of water) make sure to either brush your teeth, or if you cannot access a toothbrush make sure you rinse with regular anti-bacterial mouth wash. Do not use rubbing alcohol or peroxide on either your jewelry or mouth. Make sure to brush your tongue at least twice a day. Making sure to brush the barbell and the area around the hole. Rinse thoroughly. Avoid dairy products as they can cause unecessary amounts of yeast in your new piercing. Which if not taken care of immediately can lead to an oral yeast infection. This means no milk, ice cream, creamer, cheese, and etc. I know the cold, tasty ice cream sounds wonderful on your swollen piercing, but don't do it. sohkmj1
I don't see the point. Body piercing doesn't make you more socially acceptable, getting a job will be immensively tough when "hey, what's that on your ear?". The process isn't too nice either, I mean unless you live on painkillers, getting a piercing, no matter where, isn't exactly very comfortable. Not to mention all the possible infections, the piercing getting some funny stuff like rusting)They've probably got that covered though) and stuff like that. transcript80
I have no piercings, tattoos or anything. My GF has earrings, that's it. Since my body is "perfect" by nature \ , I have no need to "decorate it". I don't car what others do to their body, its theirs to keep or decorate/mutilate. Apart from the common "earrings" (that are pioercings of the ear lobe, but they are usually not called that way) I have never seen anyone with a piercing which made me think:"Hey! God looking!" Belly button piercings are so-so, but especially lip rings (or other piercings) I find not attractive. Also tongue piercings I find unattractive, plus they ruin your teeth. Nose piercings look cheap to me, bull rings look barbaric. Not even going into "intimate spot" piercings, a real turnoff, or more extreme ones like studs. YUCK. Not to mention the PAIN from getting them "down there" . But hey, to each his own, it's your choice. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked... Hawks
I don't have any, my earlobes are sort of deformed... One's way smaller than the other. But I might get the top part pierced a couple of times, I always thought that was cool. I wouldn't get anything more than that and maybe a nose stud thing because I think those are also kind of cool. I'm okay with lip/nose/ear/eyebrow/tongue piercings but anything else is pretty much pointless and also probably very painful. sig by Soa.....tip.it times.....art & mediadeviantart/flickr/last.fm/steam/twitter/tumblr/youtube

So you just said that every woman that has their earlobes pierced will never get a job? And piercings don't hurt. It all depends on placement. I've had four piercings, and got one left, not one of them has hurt. And the barbell won't rust. You think the piercing artist are so mad that they place iron in the customers ears? Nope, they use surgical steel. As wiki said: 316 surgical steel is used in the manufacture and handling of food and pharmaceutical products where it is often required in order to minimize metallic contamination. It is also used in the manufacture of body piercing jewelery and body modification implants.
Racheya
Meh. I personally am too much of a wuss to get any piercings but I don't really mind anyone else having them. I've never seen anybody with them that made me go OH WOW that's hot... I just don't see the real attraction to them. *shrugs* I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. Serpent Eye
I'd not get a piercing most likely, I am a trypanophobe, needles give me the creeps when I see them. I could stand a tattoo though. Er... piercings take upwards of seconds to complete. Tattoos... a minimum of at least... 30 minutes? I got my lip pierced, and it felt like someone pinched my lip between two of their fingernails. The tattoo I got on my hip? It felt like someone took a fork, pressed it firmly into my skin, and then scraped it back and forth for half-an-hour... - - - I love piercings/tattoos. I have two tattoos, and I got my lip pierced about a year ago. My work prohibits any additional modification (you can't see the tattoos I have in my suit, and I wear a clear retainer in my lip at work), but when I leave that job, I'm getting the other side of my lip pierced, and I think I'm going to gauge my ears. Piercings and tattoos on other people are so attractive
mcneilp
I quite like piercings/tattoos as well. Some people really suit piercings, some go over the top and it doesn't look too great. Would probably consider getting snakebites, nothing else. Definatly getting a tattoo however.
