What you look for in a realationship

Disclaimer: Plz do not flame me for making this kind of topic, or if you end up getting with someone cause this topic somehow encouraged you to date somone on these forums, and the relationship screwes up baddly.

Ok there has been alot of realationship talk latly. I was just wondering what people look for in the opposit gender.

For me, lets just state the biggest thing, Self-esteem. I cant stand a girl who cant do anything, or be herself infront of others, just cause she is afraid of what they will think.

But besides that, they must be able to think for themselves, be inteligent (lol atleast enough to be able to keep up ok grades), and they must have a sense of humor.

Yes i know most of you are gonna post about how they must have certain physical fetures, but i really really dont care. Of course in any realationship, the couple must be sexualy attrated somehow. I do liek preatty girls, they dont have to be downright gourus, or a compleat [bleep].

If this is stupid and gets flamed or whatever, as usal, just lock mods...

TBH, I have no idea - but I'll try and conjure something up.

Honesty is key. If you can't trust them, it's probably the worst feeling in the world wondering what they've been doing because you just can't 100% believe them.

Spontaneity is nice :) I hate making plans...

Doesn't have to be funny, but it's a huge plus. Doesn't have to be intelligent, because (without being conceited) I'm rather intelligent and I think it'd be rather fun if she wasn't the brightest bulb in the box. I dunno why, I just enjoy people that aren't geniouses :P.

Looks are a plus, but not a relationship maker/breaker. Well actually, let me rephrase that. It's definately something I'd need (or strongly want) in a wife (sexual attraction) - but there are other things that I certainly think more important to it.

Must be able to take compliments - the worst is when you call a girl pretty, or tell her that she looks nice, and you get a "no I don't" in return. Kinda kills the incentive to do anything nice, if she doesn't appreciate it. Maybe she does on the inside, but guys aren't going to read into that :P

Must have friends/others approval (if they're neutral friends/others). They almost always see through things that love blinds.

Meh, there's tons more, but these just popped into my head just now.

Oh...gee...

Okay the first thing that i would probably notice or attract me to the girl is physical attraction.

A good personality is a must, by this i mean, good sense of humour, reasonably self-confident etc.

I confess to being a bit of a romantic myself, so she would have to be romantic, appreciative, caring and at times passionate.

Yes but my point is although it's not essential it's required for the relationship to start in the first place normally.

Honesty is one thing. Trust is another. Not being a Jack*** also plays a big role! (honestly, i only want the guy to treat me right but what the hell!).. Another thing is he MUST understand what I'm saying!!!!

Oooo..... You probably shouldn't say sex though..... IT'll blow the whole relationship away!

Alright, I have a boyfriend on these forums who I'm massively in love with, so this might be kind of weird, but I'll give it a go anyway... :D

I'm a huge intelligence elitist. I'm sorry, I just really couldn't be with someone I thought was stupider than I was. And I'm quite egotistical and think quite a bit of my intelligence. :D And he should be intellectual, beyond that - capable of philosophical discussions.

He should be sensitive and not too much of a "macho" man. He should be nice, he should care about me, and he should be able to deal with my high-maintance bad moods.

It's important that he have similar interests. He should be a bit geeky and generally-liberal-hippie politically. He should be good-looking and have pretty eyes and pretty hair. :D

Finally, his name should be David and his screenname dusqi. :D

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

I think Ludacris put it quite well:

A lady on the street but a freak in the bed! ;)

I'm not into real relationships. Love's for fools. I just want some fun. What's the point in me getting a relationship now when, come this time next year, we'll be heading in different directions through university and life?

For now, I'm good.

Good sense of humour, level-headed, reasonably outgoing, etc.

Fairly average chick I guess.

All of my ex's have had different mixes so I really can't put a more solid list down.

Hm, I don't really know. Guess it starts with decent looking, I mean, you ought to do different things than walking over the street, and those things shouldn't be completely repulsive (pretty shallow, but the truth, you always take it in consideration). Then I don't know, just a buddy that you can trust or something...Some interest in your stuff, and so. Need to have a decent (read serious) convo too, not fun only. And I'd like a fight every now and then (verbal of course), that keeps it fun. And you must be able to entertain eachother without too much money, that's always good. :P

But besides that, they must be able to think for themselves, be inteligent (lol atleast enough to be able to keep up ok grades), and they must have a sense of humor.

Keeping up okay grades doesn't have much to do with intelligence, I think.

My standards aint what most would call high, but...Gotta be decent looking. Not great, but not rough...gotta be interesting, and intelligent, but not to the point where we're talking about quantum physics or anything

I really just want someone who you can treat like a friend, i've seen some of my best friends get sucked into relationships and change completely, you can't even share a good adult sick joke with my best friend anymore cos of his girlfriend :(

Is Realationship the opposite of Fakeationship?

Physical: She has to be smaller than me, I like slim girls. So pretty much petite... I'm a big guy.

Mental: She would have to be to go out with me...

She'd probably have to be younger than me by about 3 years as I have this pathetic personality where the only thing I can do is make a fool of myself. So she'd need to be as immature as me. :?

Alas no such girl has been found yet.

Hey, Chris, are you the Chris I knew a long time ago? The computer-related dude? You might be someone else but you're from Scotland too. Anyways.

What I look for in a relationship? Or what I look for when I would date a girl? I dunno. She would be nice looking and but in general just be gentle, but no lack of self-esteem and stuff, but not overly confident either. No drugs (smoking=gross). And she should just be fun to hang around with and not be boring. That's about it.

Hmm i just read that, and i noticed a slight bit of irony... i cant spell... lol.

Hmm well i just find it a better thing. I like people who are book smart, and get good grades. I dont exactly like the people who ditch shool, or dont do a thing.

i dont know if i should tell but... i allways thought lionheart was a girl...

Fat slug called me a girl last night... i think...

Yes im a guy... i think my rikku avatar throws many people. But if they read my sig they should know im a guy (im the one casting the spells...)

Glad you noticed. Anyway, I don't really like booksmart. But that might be because the people that are booksmart in my own environment just bust out random quotes to sound interesting and don't know anything at all.

Dont know about that, but the girl i like is eccentric. The only person i know that is more random and crazier then me... at times.

eccentric is good too cause it shows the person has good self-esteem.

Well...

Right now I'd have to say someone who is smarter than me, funny, very hot, laughs at my jokes, and just is a great person to be around. Thats all I really want. Oh, and she can't be younger. I just can't picture myself going out with anyone younger than me. I honestly cant even find a girl my own age :x Whenever I do find someone whos hot, they're idiots. The smart ones aren't hot lol. So the only real way to get it all, is to date older girls. :P

I have this strange attraction to girls who are almost exactly the opposite of me. I'm very laid back, lazy, and in general apathetic towards most things. But I love to read philosophy books and I love to gamble so most of the girls I really like are high strung, really uptight girls. Very odd.

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.
