After speaking with Ali the Wise, I really think that thanks to this quest all Mahjarrat-quests will be tied together. Cannot wait to see the Ritual for the Juvinate Ritual. Would be cool to see Zarosian and Zamorakian Mahjarrats fighting each other to get a victim to start the Ritual.

Dragonkin anyone?

Or maybe....

[hide=biggest spoiler ever]SAILING (look how we get to the Ritual Stone)[/hide]

A canoe doesn't have a sail, therefore you don't sail a canoe, you row it. So unless you think rowing is coming instead of sailing then stfu with the sailing [cabbage] already.

Edit: lulz @ sailing cabbage. Brassica Prime on the high seas. YARRRRRR!

Damnit, I tripped over Magzar's half inflated blow-up doll and hurt myself. I wish he wouldn't leave that thing lying around. -.-

Wait, is that a limitless supply of sapphires?

Slow respawn rate I heard.

In that case, it is VERY VERY VERY slow. :P

The first time I entered the cave, I tried mining one of the rocks to see what it contained.

This was about 10 minutes after the system update.

That same rock hasnt respawned yet.

Im going for one time only or once a day rocks.

Wait, is that a limitless supply of sapphires?

Slow respawn rate I heard.

for low levels several free sapphires once a day still isn't horrible as far as free cash goes. They're about 600 a pop aren't they?

New-wave tried to destroy the metal, but the metal had its way

Grunge then tried to dethrone the metal, but metal was in the way

Punk-rock tried to destroy the metal, but metal was much too strong

Techno tried to defile the metal, but techno was proven wrong

Yea!Metal!

It comes from hell!

Wait, is that a limitless supply of sapphires?

Slow respawn rate I heard.

710 - 784

Change in price:

  • 7 Days: +3.8%

  • 30 Days: +6.8%

I wont complain if they respawn, 8 free sapphires a day does stack up after a while.

Another small fact....

Blocking the flow of the water outlets also changes the flow of the water in the cave before it.

Poor flopping fishies.

Remember your first quest with Lucien? Remember what that lead up to? Sorry if I hinted anything in this quest by the way. It is a low level quest that is 100% worth your while.

PS- Go to quick chat and type in can you help me with quest:... Search for Mysteries of the Mahjarrat. Hint hint to the next GM quest?

So, lemme get this straight.....the Mahjarrat are playing a game of musical chairs.....except with more violence and bloodshed.....and the loser gets cracked open like a pinata and the others feast on the energy?

Why would Lucien need both the staff and the stone, though? The stone by itself could probably give him all the energy he needs without having to participate in the ritual. Is he planning to do something different?

The last person to have both the staff and stone was Zamorak.

Zamorak used them in some form of ritual to ascend from mortal to god.

Mahjaratt seem to be based on old school witch lore:

They are "immortal" but time and using their powers makes them weaker and more decayed/skeletal it then involves a ritual sacrifice to rejuvenate them.

Kind of like the witches in the Stardust movie last year.

I wouldn't say they are feasting on the energy of the one who dies more using them as a sacrifice to refresh their powers from some otherworldly source

Well after completing the quest and telling ali the wise *almost* all of my mahjarrat stories. I find it interesting my character didn't find it interesting to mention the events in wgs. Quest cape epic failage.

Stril to become a god zamorak had to do three things:

Obtain the staff of armadyl

Obtain the stone of jas/eye of saradomin/fist of guthix

Defeat a god in battle

Lucien has:

Obtained the staff of armadyl

Obtained the stone of jas/eye of saradomin/fist of guthix

See any connections?

So, lemme get this straight.....the Mahjarrat are playing a game of musical chairs.....except with more violence and bloodshed.....and the loser gets cracked open like a pinata and the others feast on the energy?

He may be seeking to free himself from the ritual entirely by way of attaining a psuedo godhood through use of the artifacts, or just looking for an edge in the fight. It's obvious that even weakened the mahjarrat are extremely powerful, if they sided against a single one they could probably take him even with the staff

btw there's nothing to support zamorak ever using the stone, where the hell are you guys getting that from?

It was said in WGS

What the hell is that monster frozen in the block of ice?

SWAG

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

Once you thaw him out, maybe you could ask him. :D

What the hell is that monster frozen in the block of ice?

It's a Muspah!

And finally we know the location of the North! Wanna bet that cave near the chaos temple in the high wilderness leads straight to it.

Also, you can now tell the story of WGS to Juna.

EDIT: 1000th post!

They added that?

What's Juna's reaction when she hears about the stone of Jas that was laying in the chasm below?

But not to Ali the wise. [hide=WGS spoilers (look at own risk)]An evil mahjarrat trying to become a god and becoming incredibly strong, killing most of the best warriors in the land (with ease), summoning ungodly strong monsters, getting a powerful artifact, evidence that the stone of jas really exists, its effects on a person who touches it, the balance elemental, and the dragonkin. Not big news at all. While we're at it lets mention that Lucien already a powerful army. He sent he grunts after the knights of armadyl, they're level 80. That doesn't sound too threatening until you consider those are some of his weakest fighters.[/hide]

I think she allready knew all along that she was also a guardian of the Stone.

She also mentions that it may be good that the Stone was stolen by Lucien. And that we will see...

Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

I doubt it. If she already knew, didn't the CE say juna guards more than she knows? So she knew about the stone of jas, she there is something else we missed?

There was a conversation you could have with her right after battling the Balance Elemental and before touching the Stone again. I am now attempting to find it...

EDIT

[hide=here it is]* Player: What do you think of Movario?

Juna: He is a villain. He and his Master seek power that mortals are not meant to have.

* P: I'm trying to stop him.

J: Are you sure your intentions are pure? Look into your heart. A part of you seeks this power for yourself. You must reject this part, and be a faithful servant of Guthix in all things.

* P: What is at the bottom of the chasm?

J: It is something that Guthix Himself hid, and it is not your place to uncover it. It is set aside for Guthix alone, and for a mortal to use it would be an affront to the cosmic order. That is all you need to know.

* P: Will you try to stop him?

J: I have no need to. There is another guardian, more powerful than I, whom Guthix tasked to protect the prize. Movario will not succeed.

* P: The Balance Elemental? I defeated it.

J: You are an enemy of Guthix. I shall speak to you no more[/hide]

priest_wiz.png

I'm confused.

After completing the quest, I can look at that particular quest diary and my last task completed in the quest is crossed out, talking with Ali the Wise is crossed out, but the Natural Historian is still uncrossed like I haven't done it.

And I've already used the lamp, so...weird. Is this happening to anyone else?
