April 22, 200917 yr Good on her. If you are gonna get a stupid controversial question you might as well speak your mind. If you are just gonna ask a question like that with the only answer that will please everyone is the PC one, what's the point of asking it? Silly. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
April 22, 200917 yr Well I personally think she handled the situation well and stood up for her beliefs in a calm manner (i.e not going "HOMOSEXUALS ARE BAD. NO HOMOSEXUALS.") Even though I don't agree with her opinion, I don't think it should have stopped her from winning, but PH does make a point -- Miss U.S.A is meant to inspire. What if little girls started hating gay people purely because Miss California didn't believe in marriage between two people of the same sex? If she doesn't express hateful or bigoted attitudes towards homosexuals and is accepting of them as people then there should be no problem. Little girls aren't going to start hating homosexuals because she believes marriage is only for one man and one woman. As for PH's point, I don't see anything inspirational in giving the same old politically correct answers to questions like this. I don't see anything inspiring in a drone who can't think for themselves (which, by the way, cuts both against PH's point and Miss California's response). I'd find it inspiring if she just spoke her mind and explained how she feels in a rational and respectful way, preferably with a reason besides "that's what my parents taught me".
April 22, 200917 yr The stuff wongtong typed out made me smile. Seriously, I didn't know an opinion was a one sided answer and she had to say something.
April 22, 200917 yr Well, I disagree with her opinion, but what's she going to do, lie? That's what beauty content winners have done for years, do you really think they all care deeply about world peace? He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
April 22, 200917 yr Stick to the looking pretty sweetheart. I think these contests are completely stupid as it is, but that question is even worse. I don't get what it has to do with anything? Noob Perez Hilton. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].
April 22, 200917 yr I believe Miss California stood for her views, she answered the question, and Perez Hilton gets all ticked off. All she said was she was anti-gay marriage and Perez Hilton is making a big deal out of it (his name is similar to Paris Hilton, hmmm...). I'm glad Miss California is standing for her views, especially when a question like that doesn't belong in a beauty pagent. What was Perez expecting, a dumb blonde answer? We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way. Please don't elect this man for president in 2012
April 22, 200917 yr He had no business asking such a controversial question and then ranting about the outcome, calling her names. I applaud her for voicing her opinion.
April 22, 200917 yr The way she expressed it wasn't offensive at all. In fact, I saw it more as an act of putting heterosexuality in a better light than slandering homosexuality which was what it was made out to be.
April 23, 200917 yr Where the hell does "Perez" get off calling her a dumb [bleep] for voicing her opinion? She didn't call him a [bleep] just because he was homosexual. I thought judges were supposed to be unbiased so everyone gets a fair chance? I would have voted for her just because she defended her opinion, not the sugar coated generic crap the rest of them give. Props to her. As for Perez...stop video blogging, please. April 23, 200917 yr Screw off Perez. If I asked him do you think marriage should be between a man and a woman and he said no. I mocked him He'd be like "oh mah gawd, you are sooooo intolerant. i answered like the best wayy cause it's like soooo uniiting" http://perezhilton.com/tv/index.php?ptv ... gory_end=4 <-- says it all, it's a spoof. I like the pink coloration of the website. :wall: Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
April 23, 200917 yr This is what happens when a "celebrity judge" thinks they're more important than the contestants.
April 23, 200917 yr What ticks me off about this is that she can't provide any reason for her beliefs beyond "That's how I was raised." Is that really a valid reason for anything? That's just laziness, isn't it? And no opinion (especially one as 'controversial' as this) should be the product of laziness...

I dont think she had time to give a lecture on the defense of heterosexual only marriage; I have heard much worse reasoning then what she said. Besides, its a beauty pageant not a philosophical debate lets not expect too much of them  Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
April 23, 200917 yr Wow, wtf, that video Deathmath posted was weird: "So tell us about your proposal of sending children to work on the Somali pirate boats." "Well, I think it's a great idea, it lets the children meet new people and see the world" (or something like that) "You go girl!" Jeez, that guy is seriously [developmentally delayed]ed, and at least she stood up for her opinion instead of the "Omg, we need unity and stuff so I say everyone should like decide for themselves and I'm hawt. Thanks." PS: she did say "No offense", she didn't mean to 'demoralize' ,or whatever that idiotic PH said, the gay community, she merely stated what she was tought and how she was raised.

But at the same time you don't ask a question like that in a Beauty Contest. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
April 24, 200917 yr I'm 99% sure that Perez himself is gay. So, offending the judge isn't a good idea in a competition. Personally, I disagree with her beliefs, but if that's the way she feels, then so be it. She's entitled to an opinion. No the judges should not put thier personal feelings into their judging, but what happened happened. When a judge does their job, they should be as objective as possibble. I would have given the crown to California, even though I disagreed with her. I would have seen her honesty and admired her for having a true opinion, compared to the rest of the zombified mindless girls out there. Perez is too subjective in his judging. April 24, 200917 yr im 99.9...% percent sure perez is gay, and from what Ive seen of his temperment he shouldnt be judging anything. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.

No, personally... but then again, between two consenting adults? Not anyone else's business, is it? Why do you ask?
April 24, 200917 yr While believing stuff because you were brought up to is ignorant, I think it was unfair for her to loose because of that. What she said may have united alot of Americans (I'm not saying a nation united by homophobia is good; I'm just working with his argument), but spouting some equivocal, over-PC bull about States having the right to decide for themselves can't possibly unite anybody. If absolute power corrupts absolutely, where does that leave God?

No, personally... but then again, between two consenting adults? Not anyone else's business, is it? Why do you ask? My point is that a lot of us don't take the time to think logically about every opinion we have, and quite a few of our opinions just come from society - not ourselves. Of course thinking about your opinions logically makes them more reasonable than ones that weren't thought about logically, but I'm just saying it's a very common thing and we all do it.
May 20, 200917 yr Do you find it misogynistic to have a man who won't have sex with women judging a beauty contest to begin with? To have that fat pervert up there to judge these girls, and condemning a young woman to lose the contest if she doesn't think she should have to recognize what he does sexually being the same as what her religion and culture teaches her is a marriage. _____________________ keyword research ~ keyword tool ~ keyword tracking ~ affiliate elite

Just because a man is homosexual, doesn't mean he can't recognise the beauty within women. Just like any straight male doesn't need to be attracted to a women to find her beautiful.
