hogsgonewild
Tip.it I was woundering if you could make a nice app on iTunes for tip.it to go with the whole website in one application. It would be nice to see maps and guides on my iPhone.

He actually had a reasonable request, but it's something that we can't really do for a multitude of reasons. There's no need for a sardonic response.. noble_aloof
well i'd like to apologize then. occasionally when my browser is running slow i'll view tip.it on my ipod touch (yesterday would be a good example) i don't understand why he would need it all organized into an app when it is already organized into a(n) (easily viewable and organized) website. Da_Latios
I was thinking about this. Sure, you can view the website on your phone but the screen is just too small. How about making a mobile version of Tip.It? How about making a mobile version of Tip.It? Dont think so. Making mobile versions of sites is realy hard, not to mention on top of paying for the boards and site, they'd have to also pay for a moblie version of which not that many people would use. Hobgoblinpie
Best option would be to make a theme that use less (or no) images and reorganises the page. POH Agility Course, Please Support!

And as was said way further up this thread all u do is go into the safari browser and go to tip.it. you can easily switch to the text only version to save loading power and i believe on the iphone u can make bookmarks of websites tht then appear on the homescreen like apps do. TBh theres 0 need for an "app" of a website. I mean no website has an "app" jut for loading its website. They have apps to stream specific features of their site ie sports score for a sports site, but you still have to load the full site to read everything else. Racheya
I don't get when you'll need to see the Tip.It guides and NOT be at a computer? O_o As for the forums they work okay really, I was on Tip.It once on my cousin's Google Phone and it worked fine. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator]. Omali
If Tip.It ran off of wordpress they could just use a simple plugin that makes it compatible with the iphone/ipod touch.
Zaaps1
I just you could use all the data and coding from Microhelper, and just adapt it for the iPhone/iPod? ~It's Super Effective! Racheya
I just you could use all the data and coding from Microhelper, and just adapt it for the iPhone/iPod? It wouldn't be that easy really, even if it WAS that easy then it probably would end up being difficult anyway >.< That's how anything with websites ends up working. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I'm just saying though, you don't need to start from scratch. You have the basic layout of the "lite" version already there, and maybe some parts of the coding you could use as well, so it's not as bad as it seems. ~It's Super Effective! la la la
By my reasoning, you can only play runescape while on a real computer, so I don't see enough benefit from the application to be worth the cost and hassle of putting together an app or mobile site. Mil
I just you could use all the data and coding from Microhelper, and just adapt it for the iPhone/iPod? Tip.It already has quite an advanced back-end, so there probably won't be a move over to another platform, even though it is quite possible. Most of Tip.It is 'in-house', just like RuneScape :) . champion
I actually was thinking about this just yesterday, as I use the forums while on my Touch quite frequently. It works fine on Safari, but it's a bit clunky.
