June 11, 200917 yr Those colors make this post hard to read :? Glad Im not the only one going blind. It depends on the skin. The colors work zetta well with the black template. Truthfully though, it's probably a better idea to leave the text plain. Update: Apparently the problem is BH worlds. PvP worlds like 26 usually drain 20-35% of your DP per kill, although we're not sure what determines the exact amount. I suspect it's level. On BH PvP, it drains a potentially massive amount. My friend tested on his level 44, on pvp worlds, it drained 30% exactly, on bh, it drained 70%+. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information!
June 11, 200917 yr 80% to 56% 24% for one kill Rune platelegs and dragon arrows Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
June 11, 200917 yr Author 80% to 56% 24% for one kill Rune platelegs and dragon arrows Thanks :) can you provide your level and the level of person you killed?
June 11, 200917 yr I'm pretty sure that pvp potential usage goes by the items alch value, not street value. For example, I was at 100% EP and decided to do the 26k trick. In a hotzone, risking 500k worth of valuebles, I killed my partner and the loot was worth over 4.5m: Statius's warhammer, d hally, ring of stone, a 70 nats, and some other random goodies. It brought my potential down to 67%, meaning a 33% loss. However my next kill gave me a total of 300k: obby bracelet, some runes, and the 26k my partner dropped. This time the drop put me down to 27% potential, meaning a loss of 40%. I haven't calculated the alch values of everything total yet, and I have screenies of both kills if you guys want them for data. I was 111+7, my partner was 114 (he had a pouch to boost his level). [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.
June 11, 200917 yr Okay, most recent update. I think everything makes more sense now. The higher your level, the less you use for a full drop. That is, at 138, you use about 20%. This makes sense, seeing as both Shortman4229 and I are over 130 combat, and spent ~22% per drop, him spending slightly more than I do. BH and PvP Worlds have exactly the same drops. They're no better or worse. This means that lower levels spend an obscene amount... like 70% or more for people under level 70. If you don't have enough to get a full drop, it still takes away some, but not everything. Hence why on one of our trials, a level 43 went from 39% to 9%. Normally it would've taken nearly 80%, but it didn't have nearly that much. If this happens, the drop is still good, but it doesn't seem to have a chance of being great. Jagex likely has multiple tiers of drops, the highest one being the one consisting of upper dragon items, barrow items, fremmnick rings, and MTA items. In Bounty Hunter worlds, a target kill yields a 100% EP drop. However, it does not add to or subtract from your actual EP. That is, if you had 13% EP, you'd get a drop as if you had 100, and afterwards, you'd still have 13%. The EP you gain on BH worlds is a bonus, if you only hunt your targets. As for the actual timer, you gain up to 25% for every 30 minutes you spend in a hotzone. Their timing mechanism is based on certain points of time. The game essentially has a clock, and every time the seconds read :00, it checks where you are. Hotzone = you get 1 hotzone minute, nonhotzone = you get 1 nonhotzone minute, safezone = you get nothing. When you accumulate 30 minutes, it gets translated into EP. 30 hotzone minutes = 25%. 100% = 2 solid hours of hotzone. You only get these minutes while risking 75k. Finally, Jagex states that pvp items, including brawler gloves, are bonuses. That is, if you get a full drop, after determining your drop, there's a chance a brawler glove or pvp armor/weapon is tagged on. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! June 11, 200917 yr I gained 10% EP every 30 minutes in a cold zone. Spent 90 minutes on the roof of Troll Stronghold by My Arm and went from 9% to 19% to 29% to 39% EP so that 1% EP isn't correct. Also it has been stated a target kill in BH adds 1 hour of hotzone EP to what you currently have and uses the entire 1 hour worth on that kill. So for example you killed your target and had 100% EP, and lost 30% EP from the drop. You would gain loot worth 80% EP even though the extra hour's worth was never displayed.
June 11, 200917 yr Author I think the "combat level effects the EP% you lose" theory is very intersting, maybe we need more confirmation on this? I have updated the thread for now. Thanks to Zalok for testing cold zone EP% :)

June 11, 200917 yr Author I did some experiment with my friend today. Here you go: Me: combat 135 Risking around 100k Friend: combat 100 Risking around 26k~100k each time. Location: Deep wildy 1st kill: 100% > 78%. 2nd kill: 78% > 57% 3rd kill: 57% > 34% 4th kill: 34% > 11% 5th kill: 11% > 3% The result shows that the theory in "higher combat lv lose less EP%" is valid. Please feel free to do more testing and post them on here  Thanks!!
June 11, 200917 yr Thanks for the research, just one question; Does one lose any EP when one loses their target? #3325 to 99 Smithing #4332 to 99 Herblore

Seems like a complicated system that takes alot into consideration off topic: Could you try posting in darker colours please? it's a bugger trying to see yellow on a lighty skins. June 11, 200917 yr I can test whether or not F2P and P2P E.P. are separated now. Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3
June 11, 200917 yr Author OK I have changed all the colors back to originals. Hope this makes the thread easier for you guys to read  and thanks to Georgelemmons !! yes please do that

June 11, 200917 yr P2P and F2P E.P. are not linked. They do not transfer over, and rise and fall independently. I checked on both worlds to start, and my E.P. was different on both. I gained 1% E.P. in F2P, and then checked to see on P2P, and my E.P. there had not changed. I gained 1% E.P. on a P2P world and checked a F2P world, and my E.P. had not changed. Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3

June 11, 200917 yr I was just trying to gain some EP and I went from 29% to 53% in half an hour, with like 400k worth of items? (I was alching so I don't know the exact number of cash I had with me) ~edit, This was in a hotzone Proud (retired) Tip.it Times Editor! Tip.it Times Archives TET event forum

(I was alching so I don't know the exact number of cash I had with me) ~edit, This was in a hotzone Amount risked doesn't matter as long as it exceeds 75k. You only earned 24%, because you likely spent some time in a non hot zone (maybe even a single minute while you were running to a hot zone). According to a statement by Jagex, PvP Gear and Brawling Gloves are "extras" - tagged along to already determined drops. That is, it's sort of like clues in that you get your drop first, then it decides whether or not you get a clue too. I've found that as long as you have ANY Earning-Potential (the official name EP stands for) you can get PvP Gear or Brawling Gloves. This seems to fit with Jagex's explanation. As long as you have any EP left at all and you're decently high level (110+) you should use up every last EP% before building more, since you'll usually still get rune items and dragonstone items, sometimes even obsidian items, pvp gear, or brawling gloves. Just to add, I had 100% EP on f2p, but when I went over to p2p, I only had 30% EP. From 30% EP, I 26ked, getting a thief brawler, adamant bolts, mystic staff, rune chain and some other random things. This brought me down to 7 % EP. #3325 to 99 Smithing #4332 to 99 Herblore
June 12, 200917 yr Author Thanks guys! eyetouch: what is your combat level? Mdeoxys: what is your combat level?

June 12, 200917 yr It really is a odd system i did 100 spiritual mages kills and got 30% ep from 10% to 40% than it got stuck and than i killed 50 more and it was still stuck so i went to thieve in a hotzone and got 21% ep from thieving for 30 mins afterwards i had 61% ep now i went back to slayer and finish the task in an hour and got 0% ep and is still stuck at 61%.
