June 26, 200917 yr You wouldn't steal a car, you wouldn't steal a tv, you wouldn't steal a movie! But you would still be a proud 21st century pirate! You wouldn't be disrespectful to your neighbour, but everyone has the potential to become a great anonymous net troll! Peeking to see what your neigbour is doing is considered to be morally suspicious (and weird), but doing a google search on them is ok. Why don't we support our high moral standards in the internet? Can you sin in a human-made, in some extent "unreal", social environment? hi.
June 26, 200917 yr Doing a google search on your neighbours would be considered weird btw (doesn't stop people from doing it though). People still 'support' the same morals as they have in real life but not the same extent because this is the internet, where everyone can be anonymous and do whatever they want without the consequences. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
June 26, 200917 yr It doesn't have any serious consequences, that's why people do it. It can be quite funny at times
June 26, 200917 yr Trolling is fun as hell, though I wouldn't do anything that would cause damage. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
June 26, 200917 yr It's because you can be anonymous. No one knows who you really are, so why should you care what other's think about you? That's the mentality that go's through people's minds. June 26, 200917 yr Because when you give a moron the ability to be anonymous on the internet, they can do whatever the hell they want without being caught. I mean, places like 4chan and RSOF and other common troll/idiot locations would be totally different if whenever you posted something your full name, location, contact information, and life history would be automatically added to the post. THEN people would be reluctant to troll... maybe. And this is sort of related, yesterday I was lurking around 4chan and someone who was angry at his girlfriend for cheating put up her contact info on /b/ hoping his personal army would make her miserable. Instead they contacted her, got HIS information, and ruined his life instead. Someone even got into his facebook. So although there arent always morals on the internet, there is karma. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.
June 26, 200917 yr I keep my Internet and 'real' lives apart, so I don't mind shifting my morals around when downloading movies or doing other bad things on the internet. However, I never troll since I believe it's always painfully obvious to spot out a troll and ignore him, while the troll himself thinks he's fooling everyone and lols all over the place like a moron.
June 26, 200917 yr Author It's fun, because...? Just because you don't get caught doing it, doesn't mean it's right to do it, does it? And how does trolling not cause damage? it wastes people's time and nerves. What I'm aiming at here is, that morals really are made by humans. We can't prove it from history, but now we have a grand view on how universal internet morals are formed, if they are. Because the internet is totally man-made, God can't put his fingers in it and place his all-perfect morals in this anonymous soapbox. We can prove, that people really don't care about others, if they can get away with it 100% guaranteed.
June 26, 200917 yr Some cases of trolling are absolutely terrible. A sophomore at my school had recently gotten shot and killed, and facebook groups devoted to him were swarmed and flamed by 4chan trolls making racist slurs and flaming people who were mourning. Others may not be so bad. My F2P Skiller's Blog |TFS- A 100% F2P Clan
June 26, 200917 yr The internet has no restrictions. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
June 26, 200917 yr Some times it can be hilarious. But a lot of the time its just annoying and stupid. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
June 26, 200917 yr God has nothing to do with morals, it's just a reason to follow the morals to some people. I believe and strive for the universal moral: respect. If everybody followed this 1 moral code we wouldn't be in the mess we have now: crime, war, discrimination, political grind, etc. Trolls are no different, neither. There are trolls who talk jokingly like that one Indian troll we had here a while back, and he didn't really (technically) disrespect or bother anybody since it was all for laughs. But others like 4chan'ers who like to harass others or stupid folks who like to flame others on TIF or on a game, should not be allowed in the Internet. Some of humanity claim they have morals, but are far from it. The only required moral we should all have in this world is respect, or honor as I prefer to call it. Just be honorable. :| "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
June 26, 200917 yr It's people who take the Internet seriously that make trolling as fun as it is. I come online to chill and crack jokes about everyone and everything I don't like, and if people want to believe that I'm 100% serious all the time then I'm not going to call myself responsible if they get offended by me. Now I'm not like someone who posts "LOL [bleep]S" for the sake of it, but I have started arguments with controversial comments because I was bored and had nothing else to do with my time. It can be pretty funny to see people take a blatantly uninformed and uneducated comment and flame it and each other for pages and pages on a forum. I'm not trying to justify it, but let me put it this way: trolling is a part of the Internet whether you like it or not. Just to rehash and paraphrase what has already been said here: when people are given anonymity, they will do all sorts of things because the chance of consequence for their actions is almost nonexistent. June 26, 200917 yr It's obvious: anonymity. If people could go around in the real world masking their identity 100%, then I'm sure they wouldn't keep up with their morals either. [iNSERT "I R EATIN TEH SHIX ATM" BILL COSBY SIGNATURE GIF HERE, LOL]

June 26, 200917 yr The above picture was on facebook. I am new to the Goth culture, and I need some songs! I know HIM and Boy George are Gothic, but I need others! Boy George is the best! He's the best Goth music artist, so I heard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Jshum5Lcfs The above quote was on a goth site that I troll from time to time. This post was epic. Also saying "Slayer is good death metal" on this site leads to flame wars. Trolling can be amusing, but not on emergency sites/hotlines.
