He deserves it. And now my city has a massive weapon

You live in the Philly region as well?

Eh, I don't really care that we signed him. I just son't really get why, Donovan has been doing pretty decent. Besides, Vick is probably going to be all out of shape by the time he's allowed to play again. We really didn't need another 2nd string. I guess the drafter figured they could get him while he was cheap. We'll see how it works out. Personally I don't even think he'll get any play time.

I love how America expresses so much outrage at what Vick did and believe he should be locked up even after he served his time--something not many elite can say--but don't even care that they all have blood on their hands as their President instituted a form of torture and over 100 detainees were tortured to death. They don't care that Obama is breaking international law and the Constitution by refusing to prosecute these acts.

Maybe if the dogs used to torture the detainees were subject to the same treatment they'd get up in a tizzie over it.

By saying Americans have blood on their hands because of the actions of our president is like saying we've got blow under our nose compliments of George W. Bush. Or pot that we smoked but didn't inhale thanks to Bill Clinton. The gitmo and other detainee abuse has been going on long before Obama took office, and will go on long after Obama leaves office, just due to the sheer bureaucracy and polarizing partisanism of our country. So, no, you can't equate the two things together. besides, when was the last time a homeless/iraqi/terrorist earned the title of man's best friend?

I bet you all of my money in my bank, that there will be 50% less outrage when Stallworth comes back to the NFL (If you didn't know he killed a man while driving drunk) and all he get was 18days jail time and some fines, While Vick is been looked at as the antichrist for killing dogs (i don't condone) and spent 18months in prison and more substantial fines.

Vick got fined out the [wagon], the Eagles saved him. He declared bankruptcy.

I know i trhink it was like $69million or so

I live around Philly too, personally I hate the Eagles and hope they go 0-16. Cowboys ftw.

But, this is a pretty good pickup for the Eagles if they use him correctly, I say run the wildcat offense occasionally with Jackson, Vick and Maclin for best results.

The man didnt something wrong sure, but people are less outraged about stallworth which bothers me some heh.

From a football perspective - this is a great signing for the eagles. He will be used in a wildcat type offensive package I think, and I think he will excell decent enough at it. Philly has a strong lockeroom - lots of weapons and now has a new dimension added to their offense.

I honestly pegged vick going to carolina, but the wildcat is emerging and makes sense, Miami has pat white now, steelers have dixon, lots of teams are trying to get an athletic QB for more versatility.

"Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world."

That's what I've been thinking.

Goodell bans Vick even though he's spent 18-22 months in prison but Stallworth only got a month and more than likely will play in the '10 season.

EDIT: oh look other people listen to Jim Rome too :o ^

I don't get why Donte Stallworth who committed Manslaughter was only in jail for a month while M Vick went to jail for 2 years. People care way too much about animals. GUESS WHAT humans can TALK to you. Animals can't, they have no opinion on anything. Why do people care more about animals than people? We aren't equal to animals, why do you think dogs are put down for biting people? People > Dogs. Simple math.

(I know I care way to much about this issue)

I'm just thankful he didn't make it to Minnesota.

And when you guys talk about Vick being "okay" when the Eagles run Wildcat, you have no clue what you're saying. Right now, the Eagles have something unheard of. They have a player who, once back in shape, can run, throw, and catch at a pro level. They can do anything they want now. There are infinite possibilities.

Here's what I believe. The Eagles took a shot in the dark. They saw a good QB on the clearance rack. If he turns out to be a bust, the Eagles didn't really lose anything, but if he looks great then they got a great deal.

Living in the Atlanta area, I've had to watch Vick through most of his years. He makes more highlights with his legs, not his arm. Now, being a Vikings fan with TJack taking snaps, I can't complain about his accuracy. But when I look at the Eagles, I see Vick fitting right in line. Randall Cunningham was a very good scrambler in the 80s. McNabb was a good scrambler; he's older now, but his legs is what set him apart in his early years. The Eagles have a history with using running QBs, and Vick was one of the best at that.

I was listening to some announcers last night, and they pointed out how Philly has often been one or two big plays from being Super Bowl champs. Vick has been known to make game-changing plays. He could bring them what they were looking for.

If the fans and organization can look beyond his baggage, and Vick can get himself back into playing shape without getting injured, then it might be very interesting to see what happens over these next two years.

Michael Vick was never a good QB. He was an amazing athlete who happened to play QB. That's why his amazing plays are with his legs. If they do this right they'll put him down as a QB but line him up as a RB or a WR.

He was never a great QB, but he was an...unconventionally good QB.

I think he's too tall and lanky to play RB. You want someone who can get low with a lot of weight. If he can catch a ball, then I'm wondering why he wasn't playing WR to begin with. I mean, hell, didn't he run a 4.2?

Yeah, but he had played in college as a QB and he was drafted as such. And he was in the bottom %50 of passing NFL QBs during his career.

Hey, you're preaching to the choir. Atlanta is wondering why the same receivers that were dropping Vick balls are now catching Matt Ryan balls. We both already agree that he makes plays with his legs, not his arm. But don't confuse fast with good. The Vikings had to learn this the hard way with Troy Williamson, the receiver that was supposed to replace Randy Moss. He could run a faster 40 than Moss, but couldn't catch anything.

Eagles got a good buy. It adds a new wrinkle to their offense, along with Westbrook who can run and catch. It'll be interesting what interesting what they do with him. Meanwhile, Pete Rose is still banned from baseball. :-k

rssig2.png

I hope they do something with him, it'd just be interesting to see him come back as a wideout or something. I doubt he will be doing much at QB.

And maybe he could be a cornerback? He is fast, yet tall enough to not be outjumped every time. I don't know if he can tackle though.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.

He's a quarterback. He suited up as a quarterback during their practice. He's not being a halfback, wide receiver, or corner. He's a back-up quarterback behind Donovan McNabb (the Eagles would be smart to get rid of Kolb, he's absolutely horrendous and makes terrible decisions).

No. No he isn't. Andy Reid is smart enough to know that Vick isn't a good quarterback. He's smart enough to know that Vick is a great athlete.

He also said in an interview, "Obviously I can't tell you how we're going to use him, other coaches will be watching this and we're going to be playing them." or something to that effect.

Yes, he is. I bet you anything. He's not going to learn a brand spanking new position in a month and a half.

He's going to be a quarterback. He's already been working on his throwing.

Alright. I'll bet you my pride. That in one of his games this season (maybe not the first, but who knows) he suits up at something besides QB.

How much is that worth, exactly? :D

If you're talking about wildcat formation, I'm sure he'll be something else, but only in that formation. But I'm telling you, he's a quarterback.

Ah, I thought you were thinking he was going to convert.

I still think he'll throw the ball this season.

Pardon my language, but that [wagon] needs to be starved for 2 weeks and put in a cage with other people and see what happens. Who ever would starve a dog and make them fight should have a special place in hell.

It's not okay to let a dog starve but it's okay to ignore a homeless person on the street?

Yes. The majority of homeless people are perverts, drug addicts and psychopaths all rolled into one. It's their fault that they can't take of themselves; they ruined their lives.

As for the families who are on the streets, perfectly normal and wellbeing but with a stroke of poor luck, there are soup kitchens and homeless shelters with nice clean beds and warm meals.

So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.

Perverts: So are 80% of the people on the internet.

Druggies: So are 25% of the people on the internet.

Psychopaths: That's a mental problem, ergo not their fault.

105%?

People can be both. :-k
