Oh, and cameras that will send data to a command center for processing are being placed in abandoned cities and land all around the Americas. If any human forms are detected, we can respond. They will have thermal settings as well, so detection will be easy. This will be finished in 5 years.

Because I am building a space station around a massive asteroid which is being hollowed out as we speak. It also has, at its full complement, a massive number of lasers capable of intercepting Heavy Battleships like they were a swarm of missiles.

I believe I have the largest fleet of defensive short-range ships, numbering thousands of Puddlejumpers.

Bedore you ask Archi, they are sylyndrical, 4 * 8,5 m and produced five at a time every two weeks. And at that rate they have been produced since the old thread.

The tel'tac cargoships are unarmed, but the jumpers each carry ten drones. If I find out exactly when production started I can give you the correct numbers.

What are the drones worth?

I have no idea of their value, but they are small(1*0,35 m) squid shaped smart weapons in a cathegory I call hit-and-run missiles(I think this is new) which means they are capable to piercing through smaller enemies(and in greater numbers some of them pierce through large ships) before detonating, this enables each drone to cause greater damage by for example penetrating the hull of a large ship and detonate within it. They can either be remote-controlled through a neural interface by the pilot of a ship or a land based control chair, or they can decide and target enemies themselves, avoiding friendly ships as well as debris, friendly or neutral satelites and metiorites.

I am pretty sure that gated torpedos are better for me. Not fire and forget but since I can fire them from any angle and they are 99% likely to hit up to 7 Miles away, with the chance to hit decreasing by 2%(compound-ly) per 5 Mile.

Just putting this out there, 1 billion missiles=anywhere from 5-500 trillion $. 500 trillion is around 8 times the GDP of earth.

I think that's a little overpowered if it can do that. How is it even powered? 1 billion lasers powerful enough to take out a missiles would be expensive to fire.

Not especially, since all the lasers are basically civilian lasers put though an array, and since the actual station itself is Quark Fusion powered, with, at full complement, around 400 Quark Fusion Generators, each destroying about 500 grams of matter per minute, thus releasing about 125 grams of energy per reactor, and matter converts to energy at 9×1016 J/kg so thats 50 Kg, times 9e10, so....4,500,000,000,000 J per minute.

Given that not all 400 would be active 100% of the time(for obvious fuel issues... it burns though 200 Kg per minute, 1 tonne per 5 minutes, so 20 Tonnes an hour. Though the generators all have independent supplies that are designed to last for 12 years, so its more a matter of being responsible than conserving fuel.

 

Since the lasers are about 1.5 KW, and operate for about a second each.... I am looking at up to 3,000,000,000 separate lasers, though that is not including cooling systems, life support, general things....,

How did you manage to get fusion that efficient in such little time? I spent 100 years getting fusion to return any benefits. A civilian laser, no matter what you put it through wouldn't do anything to a missile, much less a ship. Your station, with almost 0 research time could create more energy in 1 hour than the human race on Earth does in a year.

Indeed, that is what Quark Fusion does. Also I did explain exactly how I did Quark Fusion and how it isn't actually Quark Fusion but proton/neutron/atom fission, but that is a waffle and Quark Fusion is easier to say....If I was gonna go with Quark Fusion then I would be generating about 3 times as much energy, but I don't think cracking that just yet is within my grasp.

For an epic power source you are going to have to research for at least one houndred years, that is the ammount of time most others(including me when mines done) have researched normal nuclear power.

Either way, your reactors aren't going to recover 100% of the energy released. It's fission, which in general leads to less recoverable energy than fusion. Regardless of how you did it, it still produces an incredibly overpowered amount of energy considering you've been in the game only a few years.

Sigh, I know...They recover 1/4 and 1/4 of 500 is 125....and 50 Kg is for 400 Generators not 1....

For 1 it is 7.5 Kg per hour, which is 11,250,000,000 or 11.25 Giga Watts. Which is no where near the amount of energy humans use per year.

It would be like saying you can't build more than 1 nuclear plant because that would be more powerful than 2 coal plants... Its pure nonsense.

 

Also it is just realism, it doesn't matter how long I have been in the game, any more than it matters how long Retech has been in the game when he declares a massive reproduction rate. Furthermore, since I am the war judge I do not expect to be attacked and I do not expect to do any attacking.

I think you did your math wrong to start with.

 

If matter converts at 9*10^16 joules per kilogram, then 50 kg would be:

50*90,000,000,000,000,000 Which would equal 450,000,000,000,000,000 Joules per minute. To find the watts that that puts out, divide by 60: 450,000,000,000,000,000/60= 75,000,000,000,000,000 watts.

For an easier number, divide that by a trillion: 76,000,000,000,000,000/1,000,000,000,000= 75,000 Terrawatts. The human race puts out 15 terrawatts.

 

In sci notation:

9*10^16*50=4.5×10^18

4.5×10^18/60=7.5 × 10^16

7.5 × 10^16/1*10^12=75,000

 

So even if you had 1/4 efficiency, like you said they would still be getting 18750 Terrawatts, over 1000 times what everything on Earth puts out.

 

Actually, I messed up. That was already factoring in your 1/4th efficiency, without that you would be getting 300,000 TW.

So the way you have that thing set up it would put out 75,000 tw. That's ridiculous.

However, if your lasers could somehow be 1.5kw each, even though single powerful laser can be measured in gigawatts, or occasionally terrawatts and were each on for a second, you would only need 4.5 TJ of power per shot. But that's still impossible, due to the fact that your lasers wouldn't be anything more than pointers.
