A cool idea about clans

Pretty much every major clan will keep a note of thier own history.

but you have fun trying to create a history everyone agrees on, especially when you consider there probably 100+ clans created a day and equally 100+ disbanded

It is a cool idea, for sure, but mostly impractical. Individual clans keep their own history well documented but compiling it in an unbiased and complete way honestly just isn't worth the effort. It's been tried before, and failed.

these forums are the history tbh...

There's a decent pre-RS2 history out there...can't be bothered to find it for you though :P

Mostly biased, but still a fun read.

Writing a new history would be impossible, because after RS2, especially after Wilderness got removed there are

A) Too many clans in the world that content

B) No interesting rivalries, hate and drama - it's all for 'good fun'

^ Best RS history compilation so far.

But, don't forget this: Impossible is Nothing.

I'm gonna use what Charlie Sheen once said on Two and a Half Men: Why did people want to climb Mount Everest? Not just because it looked like a big, pointy melon, but also, because they wanted to show that everything is possible.

I think it would be cool from a tactical standpoint, to see how we came from 1v1 battles, to capped miniwars, to dragging = nh (what a concept lol, it's not anymore though), to welfare gear = nh, to no wild, etc.

Sure, a more general concept would be feasible. You simple look at the tactics behind wars, and the changes in the places (Wilderness single, Wilderness multi, Clan Wars,...). This would make an interesting view on how clans changes over time as well (quality - quantity - both), and would explain why alliances aren't really needed any more, but are purely for fun nowadays.

You could describe each type with examples (like RSD Vs MI in RSC days, DI Vs RSD Multi-Wilderness, ...).

Would make a nice guide thing on the Tip.It Clan Section..
