I can't believe no one has mentioned Neutral Milk Hotel yet. Are not any pseudo-indie listeners on TIF? Edit - Quotin' dis: The name Rage Against the Machine makes me think of a bunch of overprivileged white kids trying to rebel against the ESTABLISHMENT the only way they can, by popping their collar and wearing Che Guevara t-shirts... and starting a band and naming it Rage Against the Machine. Truly an awful name. I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free! Just keep it under 5 sentences, and PM me to use my fluency in Japanese to your advantage!

August 9, 200916 yr But seriously, what band name is considered good ? Or even "normal" ? Black Sabbath? That's a good point though, most band names are weird to some extent. But some are a lot worse... all those indie pop bands with names like Dogs Die in Hot Cars are just straight-up ridiculous and most people would probably agree.

August 10, 200916 yr Anything starting with "li'l" or "young" I'd like to add "Naked Brothers band" and "The Butthole Surfers" But the majority of the bands you listed sound decent. I actually like P!ATD's name. and barenaked Ladies is quite fun to say out loud. Good conversation starter. I also like "Nickelback" 's name. it's named after the position he played in High school or something like that. Nah, it comes from Mike Kroeger's other job. He worked at Starbucks and the change was often a nickel so he would say "Here's your nickel back." and they decided it would be the band name. As for stupid band names (in my opinion, of course)... Alexisonfire, Alice in Chains, Arctic Monkeys, Garbage... I'll stop there.
