Songs That Touch a Nerve..

Peace

Recommended Posts

Off-Topic seems a bit dead at the moment, so I thought we might as well try and liven things up, broaden peoples opinions so to speak, so I want people to list songs that are special, songs that make your hairs stand up on the back of your neck when you hear them, or songs that send a shiver down your spine. Ill get the ball rolling with a few:

Everybody Hurts - REM (No comment really, just one of those songs)

Dance - Nas (written about his mother after she died of cancer)

You'll Never Walk Alone - Gerry & The Pacemakers (Not so much the Pacemakers version, but when you hear 40,000 fans singing it, its unbelievable)

Feel free to add your own, otherwise I'll look a wee bit stupid

...and remember, genre doesn't matter!

Rainbow - Catch the Rainbow (the live version from On-Stage)

The solo from that, Jesus Christ, Blackmore at his finest.

Gotta agree with You'll Never Walk Alone too.

As for newer songs, I gotta say Fix You by Coldplay gives me shivers.

Dreaming of that face again

It's bright, and blue, and shimmering

Grinning wide

And comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes

To go for something not mentioned yet:

Pearl Jam - Man of the hour.

Beautiful song, simply beautiful. If I want a non-classical song played at my funeral it will definately be that.

I'll add more as I go but as you can deduce, classical music really gives the gooseys. Nothing beats a full orchestra at full swing.

Everybody Hurts - REM (No comment really, just one of those songs)

This song was played at a friends funeral, so i've found it hard to listen to since then. Other than that, About a Girl by Nirvana, which was played at another friends funeral.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

I know the feeling, I cant listen to Stay Another Day by East 17 for the same reason, but in all honesty I doubt I would listen to to it anyway - not my cup of tea..

I doubt Basher is such a 'funny' guy in real life. Let's ignore the him instead of all saying how we all hate what he said, one time is enough. Continue with sie topic.

The S&M version of Metallica's "The Call of the Ktulu" can move me too, when I listen to it on the right moment. And of course Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig in the Sky" and "Eclipse". :)

Almost as moronic as you thinking you are either "cool" and being an "individual" for putting darkblue text which there fore becomes impossible to read on sublack theme.

Yeah, I have to agree there, that the colored texts are extremely stupid, and just make things harder.
