Rune Defender Or Dragonfire Shield?

Hi. Which one would be a better option for me? I'll be doing lots of slayer(level 86 to 99). Defense isn't really an issue for me on majority of the tasks. I don't do any dragon tasks besides baby black dragons so dragonfire shield has no advantage for that.

DFS is way too much for the stats.

Same, I really only use DFS for ranging.

What kind of mainstream Ranging do you do to need that big of a Defence bonus?

On topic: Rune Defender. Healthy Strength bonus. Great Slash bonus and Relatively cheap (depending on how efficient you are with time)

Defender all the way. I've never owned a DFS, and now that there's a potion to not need one, I think I'll spend my millions on that in the future when demand drops for Herblore levels.

Way to answer your own question :P DFS has two uses, -High Defence and -Use against Dragons, and since you say that you don't need Defence and that you don't kill Dragons DFS is just a worthless piece of junk and Rune Defender is the way to go for you

Defender all the way, I only use DFS to annoy other people with insane defense bonuses in soul wars/clan wars, or for tank ranging/maging, thats about it.

at one point you have so much money you don't know what to do with it. And then you buy a DFS.

 

I actually used it a lot during slayer. A lot of tasks that most people pray, become tankable with a DFS.

Besides Dragon tasks, I really only used my DFS for one thing, and that was GWD. Once I got my Divine, I figured the +7 Str bonus against dragons wasn't worth the 19m it was selling for, so I sold it.

Rune defender is much better overall, the only times dfs come in really handy is either dragons, and gwd (mainly arma and sara) for tanking. But for the money it's worth...it's better to spend the money wisely on other things than one shield which isn't THAT great.

Well I really only use for Armadyl and Saradomin, but I guess it's good if you want to use void range at Aviansies or Abyssal Demons.

if yer high enough where att doesnt matter on a certain npc, use dfs for the 2+ str bonus if cash doesnt matter.

The accuracy bonus of the defender far out weighs the +2 str that you lose. If you're going for as much exp/hr you can the defender would be better. Like its been said, the DFS has its uses and slayer/training isn't one of them. Except for certain tasks that you need it.

Rune def all the way :D DFS is a little excessive unless your require it for monster hunting. Other than that, it is more of a luxury than a necessity.
