The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

Japan has the third largest GDP... Its not really like the Republic of God-Knows-Where experiancing 100% GDP growth, ie increasing from a budget of 50,000 a year to 100,000 a year because they found oil or something...

This is a 25 billion a year increase...That 25 Billion has to come from somewhere...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_future_GDP_(nominal)_estimates

Japan should increase by 50% over the next 50 years(1% per year, not 5%)...Even the USA is only set for 2.9% increase per year...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Well, I'm going to bed now. Analysts predict that there will continue to be strong 5% growth for the coming decade, as a result of a strong private sector and booming export sector, as well as the development of Indonesia and Yemen into mature economies.

Cool story, bro.

To be fair, the US is growing so slowly because its economy is on its knees coughing up blood and stomach acid from the beating it has taken.

That thing kinda messes with me... the gdp of india, china and the US combined is over 100 trillion...

Retech actually has a somewhat legitimate point. 5% is reasonable.

Dusty, it doesn't include Palestine because, well, it's a secret. You'll find out.

Keep in mind I have a vested interest in Palestine, so doing your stuff in secret and then coming along in 10 years and saying 'Palestine Mine!', isn't really going to fly well.

I have no idea how mouch my GDP is rising due to gold mining, but I know it should be significantly increasing.

Unless your countries hadn't been using those mines at all, no. It hasn't risen at all from it.

Okay, here's my point. Let's assume Japan grows at 3-4% because it's not a very young economy, but everything is coming out of the recession. Then you account for South Korea, Indonesia, Yemen, Singapore, and the Phillipines, which are undeveloped economies and would be growing at 8-9% for a decade, because they are becoming developed economies (which is why unindustrialized countries grow so quickly, they didn't have too much before). Then after the decade is over, the people are wealthier and the industries are at their peak, so growth tapers off. Then you have 3% growth across the board. So you see, the only reason Japan's economy is expanding so fast is that the younger economies are expanding at such a fast pace, like China, and Japan is growing at its usual rate, which comes together at about 5% (the younger economy share becomes larger, thus making the percentage closer to it the larger it grows).

Also noting that economics is not my strength, but I can back my argument with examples. I'll wait for examples that refer to something else except overproduction (which does not apply, at such a low growth rate). I know that you say that your "argument" isn't an argument, but you're still arguing about whether anything is going to happen. So please find one or two examples in history and then I'll accept that. No more pie metaphors!

I know for a fact that the Kongsberg silver mine hasn't been used, the last hundred or so years it's been used only for tourism.

I see where you have gone wrong now.

You see 3%, 5% and 8% and take the average of 8%...when actually its 1% of 5 Trillion and 8% of 239 Billion(Singapore) That does not cancel out to 5% of 5 Trillion.

Japan

4.35 Trillion

18% over 5 years

Singapore

239 Billion

30% over 5 years

Indonesia

909 Billion

50% over 5 years

South Korea

1.34 Trillion

4.5% over 5 years

Yeman

27 Billion

80% over 5 years

Phillipines

318 Billion

30% over 5 years

Now given that it is over 5 years the percentage would be lower than % / number of years, because of compound interest, and I haven't got the time or inclination to work that out.

Thus:

5133000000000

+

310700000000

+

1363500000000

+

1400300000000

+

48600000000

+

413400000000

=

8669500000000

/

7183000000000(Start total)

=

1.21

Thus the ecomomy expands by 21% over 5 years.

21/5=4.2%

Now you are engaged in all kinds of growth schemes so actually the figure should be lower, since you are spending money which will take a few years to create a profit again....because 500 million outlay in a new factory which makes a 20 million a year profit will take time to pay itself off.

We can go round and round in circles Retech, I know what I am talking about, I have given you examples, numerous examples, and you have said 'Nah, I don't exactly fit into that box so obvouisly none of it applies...' I am not going to find a 'Japan collapses while trying to grow Indonesia' news story, so I doubt that any example I give you will be adequate so if you carry on I will simply crash the market and remove your gold... Because you are acting like a banker 'Oh yes, constant growth' but what about... 'No constant growth' But 2007? 'Constant growth'

So if you want to continue the argument then fine...just be aware that 2018 will start with soring Gold Prices and Japan losing about half its reserve.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

It already includes all the silver and gold deposits in Scandinavia...including the predicted ones and the untapped ones...

Finding more would be unlikely, probably 1-2 tonnes a year.

What about the fact that the NOK now is valid in all Scandinavian countries? That should almost triple the value and thus my GDP in USD.

(WTF, LOL, now that's a lot of three letter acronyms.)

Lol just noticed Scandinavian can be split into "scan-din-avian" (scan-your-avian).

It would stay basically the same, since all you are doing is giving them a new currency and taking away an old one...there has not been any fundamental change...People are not producing more or less.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Watched a documentary about habitalizing Mars, sounded plausible here. The funny thing about it though was that the main speaker was named McKay, the same as the foremost scientist in StarGate, although it wasn't him . . . I think... :?

Scandinavia starts collecting seeds for moss, lichen, bushes, shrubs, grass and trees (among them project evergreen), it also stores all the CO2 currently in the Greenland bunker in preassurized canisters to be shiped to Mars.

Also we'll need equipment to extract clorine and sulphur from martian soil in order to mix them into a greenhouse gas several thousand times more potent than CO2.

Let the preparation for terraforming commence!!!

How about we don't screw up mars in the first five minutes...We need to get there, do research and slowly experiment, not go off with some harebrained scheme...no matter how plausible it looks.

Today, Michael Collins was court-martialed over the murder of a 9 year old girl. He was still on active service and committed the heinous act of murder.

"Mr. Collins, you have been found GUILTY for murder against an innocent, young child. You do not deserve to live. The Court hereby sentences you to death by hanging, to be carried out immediately." *gabble slams*

After he was found GUILTY before a panel of judges, he was marched outside before his Regiment. They marched him to the gallows while playing the tune of Danny Deever. He was stripped of his buttons and stripes and was forced to give up his uniform and cap.

"What are the bugles blowin' for?" said Files-on-Parade.

"To turn you out, to turn you out", the Colour-Sergeant said.

"What makes you look so white, so white?" said Files-on-Parade.

"I'm dreadin' what I've got to watch", the Colour-Sergeant said.

For they're hangin' Danny Deever, you can hear the Dead March play,

The regiment's in 'ollow square -- they're hangin' him to-day;

They've taken of his buttons off an' cut his stripes away,

An' they're hangin' Danny Deever in the mornin'.

His life expired at 6:38 AM, Saturday morning.

Because of his disgrace to his regiment, there will be a period of cleansing in which the regiment dresses in black and does not sing tunes during marching drills. This will last for 30 days.

"The Military handles its own. That's what I like about the Army. This son of a [bleep] murdered a little girl named Barbara, and I don't feel sorry that he got what he deserved. What I don't like is that he got out rather easy; the girl's parents had to suffer, but he didn't have to suffer for very long at all. I hope he rots in hell."

Terraformation of mars would take hundereds of years and consume most of the worlds funding.

I'd say it's pretty implausable.
