I think basing something in the SSR is equally silly as placing it in the USA(Again)....We need a neutral country... Not Switzerland because of the minefields...Maybe EGG?

Or Japan, Yemen, Indonesia, South Korea, and half of Papa New Guinea

Japan proposes the "International Monetary Unit." It would be a method of keeping track of currencies relative to each other. The Unit would be approximately the value of the dollar compared to other currencies before the crash, and no one would print it. Your currency increases or decreases relative to it directly proportionally to how much you print, so you can't just print yourself out of debt. Basically it has no function except to replace the dollar, to keep trading stable. The unit would also not be controlled by anyone, since it's more of a concept than an actual...creation.

 

The agency which runs it would preferably be built in Romania, since they seem to be the most neutral nation which is interested in not wrecking the world ecnomy.

I don't think we should give Dusty power like that... Build it in a npc country!

Well I was going to suggest to put it in Japan, but people would be in an uproar over Japanese takeover of the economy, so I decided "Why not let Dusty hold the agency?"

There's a fine line to walk when we play this between sensical and non-sensical, but it's not that hard, so long as you're willing to swallow your pride every now and then.

Well that's not the point. My point is that I'm trying to be as decentralized as possible, with a currency which no one controls, to make it easier. Basically I'm saying that everyone keeps track of their currency as one unit, instead of doing all this conversion. Basically making sure no one has even the remote chance of collapsing the world's economy, even if we just say it never happened.

Well everyone was basically calculating in terms of US dollars anyway, because that was the reserve currency of the world in 2009. Now that we have a maniacal lunatic in charge of the US, we might need a new currency. :P

Well I'm in the American federation thing... I side with Sere regardless, unless he does something REALLY [developmentally delayed]ed.

The new country would have to be based off something...otherwise it is just a random figure we plucked out the air...which is kinda like saying 'We have build a global detonator, with a random number generator trigger.'

It's based on the value of the old American dollar. :P

 

I think destroying the world's economy, or at least trying to, is pretty far out there.

Well I have my own version of the IMF in SATO, and it's based in Brazil, but it's just for the SATO countries.
