I'm not looking forward to getting an eod bot kill once the new assignments come out on xbox. You have to get 1 kill with it as part of the assignment for the mtar.

It's much easier to get now that the EOD handles better. Like I said, just planting a charge, then pulling back and killing anyone who tries to defuse is the easiest/best way to get it.

Close Quarters was released for xbox premium users this morning, been having fun on the new maps. :) Ziba tower and Donya fortress are my favorites so far.

The point of the mk3a1 w/frags and the m320 lvg in gun master is to give everyone else a chance to catch up. Also, I've never had problems with the lvg, maybe you need to learn to use it properly instead of just spamming it and getting mad when nothing hits.

I'm not a huge fan of the LVG but when you use it with the grenade specialization in any other scenario outside of gun master it becomes pretty sick [7 LVGs + 2 hand grenades = 9 explosive balls]

 

The Mtar-21 is stupid fast. I've literally died and my gun kept firing to kill people because the gun wasn't done registering all the bullets that it was supposed to spit out. Took me like 2 rounds to get a service star with it.

 

I've noticed that the generations of guns now have a theme to them with this most recent patch. The Close Quater assignment guns all have heavy piercing/collateral damage [likely because they came out to promote fast paced fire fights]. The Karkand assignment guns are all accurate at long range to an extent with little recoil, likely to promote the defensive tactics used in Conquest Assault. The standard guns are a fair mix of both qualities.

 

Can't wait for the next big update with Armored Assault. It's gonna be sweeeeet

Yea, AK won't be as fun, unless someone in DICE/Microsoft/whoever grows a brain and increases the player cap. Otherwise it will just be lame. And this is coming from a guy who LOVES using vehicles.

 

I have to wonder if AK will have assignments though. Unlocking access to new vehicles would be pretty cool.

it's already been confirmed by Zhinto(one of the community managers, I think) that the consoles cannot handle more than the current players.

Maybe. Frontlines: Fuel of War had 25 people per team, so I don't really see why BF3 couldn't.

I think they could at least manage 16v16 if they really tried.

 

I feel like the assignments will mostly be tags for the AK series, if not new unlocks for current vehicles. Can't imagine they'd lock entire vehicles from play. Like...giving a T-90A an AA attatchment, or a Jet a laser painter.

How much recoil does the M-TAR have? I've unlocked the first tier of new guns, and none of them seem to have much recoil (except the M417, but that's expected with a semi-auto sniper). And I love playing as Engineer now, all thanks to the ACW-R.

 

Also, shotguns are such BS most of the time...

How much recoil does the M-TAR have? I've unlocked the first tier of new guns, and none of them seem to have much recoil (except the M417, but that's expected with a semi-auto sniper). And I love playing as Engineer now, all thanks to the ACW-R.

 

Also, shotguns are such BS most of the time...

 

M-TAR21 has very little recoil. it's essentially a P90 with more range and power, but less ammo.

The weapons are great. The maps are ok at best imo. Too many people just camp in random areas, or puppydog a certain flag (I'm looking at YOU, Donya Fortress C flag.)

I don't like Donya Fortress in general. It's much too big and cumbersome for an 8v8 match. Would have been glorious for a 12v12 bloodbath though.

 

CQ overall? worth it. The new game types are fun and fast for gaining xp. The new guns are practically essential. The new maps aren't too exciting, though I do enjoy Ziba Tower and Scrapyard.

I like Donya and Ziba, don't really like Op 925. Op 925 is way too spread out. I've never had any problems with how donya is layed out.

 

 

It's worth your money if you like the infantry aspect of Battlefield. No vehicles to get in the way in these maps. The guns are great too.

I completely agree that CQ could've been amazing for 12v12. Hell, even 10v10 would've been better.

So... apparently there is a glitch on Operation Metro that lets you get into the ceiling above B, on the second set of MCOMs. C4 can kill enemies.

new assignments [gun camo update] are frustratingly similar to the previous assignments. I thought I was done with the god forsaken F2000.

It's a shame only small parts of the map will see any real action on consoles. God forbid they up the team sizes when releasing "the largest map in battlefield history". :rolleyes:
