I have come to the conclusion that either: a. If helicopters and jets get unlimited flares, engineers should get unlimited AA missiles. B. Flares either need a limit/increased re-arming time, or reloading the AA lunchers should have a decreased time.

That is... The stupidest thing I've ever heard.

 

All you need is half a brain and/or an IR sight and mines stop being an issue.

 

I have come to the conclusion that either: a. If helicopters and jets get unlimited flares, engineers should get unlimited AA missiles. B. Flares either need a limit/increased re-arming time, or reloading the AA lunchers should have a decreased time.

More B than A I think. Plus it shouldn't be that easy to disable the enemy, or else jets and helicopters would stop being fun.

 

Also: Damn them AA Lunchers, this is supposed to be a full-time job! :rolleyes:

Just lock on to the jet/heli, at that moment it will probably already use its flares, then quickly lock on to it again and shoot. Sometimes you don't have enough time to pull this off but most of the time it's pretty easy to do.

 

Also, have they fixed the AT-mines glitch yet? Now you can lay down mines, die and continue to lay down more mines without your previous ones disappearing. At the end of the match entire maps are filled with AT-mines.

While that does happen sometimes, more often than not it won't. It's just so annoying to fire once so they use their flares, then have to reload, lock on, fire and wait for the missile to travel, by which time they have their flares again, and are no doubt spamming the RB (xbox) to release them again.

 

Granted, it's easy to shoot them down if you have friends playing with you (both using AA launchers), but nearly impossible when playing with randoms.

No, but my usual tactic is to start as a recon with an M1014, rush the enemy, plant a beacon behind enemy lines, rush the enemy, inevitably die; then respawn at beacon for the rest of the round, usually as an Engineer to plant mass amounts of mines, die and then plant more mines. This update completely and 100% screwed my way of playing

Getting quite handy with the scout helicopters now. Damavand peak, captured A by hovering above it followed by a quick flight over the ridge to take out the Russian helicopter and a bunch of their guys hiding behind a jeep.

I'm much better at flying the helicopters than I used to be. Not as easy as BC2 and I still occasionally go full dipshit, momentarily forget the controls and plow into a building but it's happening less and less which is always good.

My god, the Canals are [bleep]ed up in Team Deathmatch. I don't think I've lost one yet because all there is to it is zigzagging around the cargo with a shotgun. They really should've thought a little harder on balancing their stages. While they might look nicer and add more of a variety, I preferred BF:BC2's flow of combat.

I miss BC2's style of sniping. Just seemed... better. Where, in hardcore, if you got hit by a bolt action rifle, YOU DIED. Granted, sometimes there were BS deaths, but still. And there was no stupid lens glare. (New attachment for all snipers! Dirty scope! No lens glare but a bit harder to see through!)

 

Some of the maps are pretty bad, I will admit. (Damavand peak on conquest <_< )

 

Another thing: If a jet is hit by a tank shell, it should explode. On the spot. No stupid vehicle disabled. No time to bail out. Instant explosion.

 

Last complaint: Dice needs to fix their menus. Ever since the game came out, I've had trouble loading images of dog tags, medals, ribbons, etc. Also in the customization screen. Get one new attachment for the M16A3, every weapon in the assault class suddenly has that orange triangle, and so do the classes. Really annoying.

I agree completely. You wouldn't have a shell explode in your cockpit and survive, likewise with heatseeking missiles. 2 should destroy it, not flipping disable it. <_< And oh god the triangles. It's horrible not knowing what you've just unlocked. And why did they decide to show you the attachments you haven't got? If we don't have them, don't show them. Herp a derp. >_<

Sorry I didn't clarify. You need 100,000 points to get the second service star. They probably give 10,000 points like the first one. But yea.

 

Unlocked the AEK and A-91. Both are pretty beastly, I must say. Used the AEK on a conquest game in Op. Metro, and did really well with it. (Why the hate on Op. Metro? I think it's probably my favorite map if the game is really close.)

Is it me or at air-to-ground (guided missiles) completely useless? I just unlocked them and I started shooting at tanks and it didn't seem to do any damage at all. I didn't get a hitmarker or anything. Also, at the speed you're flying it's pretty much impossible to get a second lock-on making them even more useless. Maybe I'm missing something.

Why don't you find a target, get a run up whilst locking on, then shoot both? I don't have them yet, but I'd assume that's the best thing to do. It would be kind of overpowered if it took them out in 1 shot.

I think you may be better off just using the chaingun to take out tanks, since it seems to work the best. Missiles would be useful for fast moving jeeps, and maybe LAVs.

If you use the EMC scanning, the lock on is almost instant, it's really useful. However, rocket pods are way better than the guided misses.

You might as well just run with rocket pods.

You would use rocket pods against ground targets. Not air. And nothing can beat the miniguns.
