You can contribute to your team by yourself. Winning the game and/or carrying the team by yourself is a different story. Depending on what kind of person you are, that may or may not put you off from this game.

As long as I can still have fun while playing without friends (they all play mw3 and ONLY mw3) then I'd probably get it. The bf says it's considerably less entertaining when you don't have friends to play with though. So I think I'll hold off till a later date. But glad to know I can still play by myself online anyway. lol

Got back into BF today. Played some really good games in the begginning. Best game I only had 4 kills on operation firestorm, but had almost 5k points and got MVP. So much fun being in a tank and reaking havoc on the other team :thumbup:

Finally bought BF3 today with Christmas money. It'll be shipped to me by Thursday. :) Can't wait to fly some jets.

I loved the first couple of weeks when I could wreck in a tank. During the last time I played, it seems I get insta-gibbed by multiple hiding engineers, or some helicopter/jet rocket-pods me to (near)death.

DICE better start fixing their game. Menus, icons not showing up, glitches, SNIPING... As well as the stupid USAS-12 w/ frag rounds bull[cabbage]. Had a game where 6 people on the enemy side were using it. Yes, I counted them.

Yeah, the game definitely needs to be more fluid than it is. One time I got killed immediately after a medic revived me - I didn't have a weapon for my next spawn. I couldn't do anything but run around and die.

 

Other than the glitches, I'm happy with how they balanced the classes and weapons. It makes sense to give Support some of the good explosives like Claymore and Mortar.

It's very obvious the game wasn't in a polished state when they released it. Especially the graphics and audio are very unstable. Very often you see textures flickering, trees/dead bodies only showing up partly, hud elements vanish (especially the reticle). Audio has the same problems, in BFBC2 you always knew when an M-COM station was armed. In BF3 half the time you can't even hear it being armed or the noise it makes after it has been armed. Makes Rush a ton less fun than it was in BFBC2. Also, sometimes you can only hear guns fire and explosives detonate but not all the ambient noise, again quite frustrating.

 

And let's not forget small dumb stuff like the flag capture icon being in the middle of your screen when you're capturing it or not being able to see which flag is which on your hud. It only shows an X amount of of squares above your minimap. It wouldn't be that hard to put letters in those, DICE.

 

I really wish EA didn't force DICE to release this game before MW3.

Is it only me when I'm flying in a jet, or does it randomly decide to lose speed when I'm going upwards, and not start again for 30 seconds. It was annoying one time, I was just about to take out 2 jets, one's engine did the same and the other flew off. Takes the mickey. <_<

That's because you've flown too high. There's a certain altitude at which your plane will stall until it's below that height again. It's a pretty annoying way to prevent people from going too high, though. Why it doesn't just bounce you back I don't know.

The only thing is, it sometimes happens when I'm only just above a mountain on Op. Firestorm. Which sucks like hell when you're being chased by heatseekers. <_<

It's called a stalll. A jet engine needs a cretin amount of oxygen for it to run, once it hits this point the engines stop running and wont run until it gets enough oxygen to start up the engine.

Most jets have cruising heights of around 8,000-10,000 meters in the air.

 

Does anyone else think the F-35 is not a good fighter for air to air combat in BF3? I feel like it can't make a good banked turn like the F/A-18 or the Su-35E.

I've hit the height ceiling only a handful of times so far after 80+ hours of gameplay. It's not a big problem.

CITV is only useful if the main gunner has guided missiles, or there are engineers with javelins paying attention. Otherwise it's not that useful. It's basically a SOFLAM, only you die along with it if it gets blown up. The real thing to look forward to with getting the first star is the dog tag you unlock. It's sweet.

So I got this for christmas and TDM seems to be the only gamemode where I can regularly find people, lmao.

So the USAS-12, while hilarious to use, is incredibly OP with these frag rounds.

 

Also, why the heck is the USAS dogtag a picture of the spas?

I actually prefer buckshot to 12g frag with my USAS-12. It's one-shot-kill no question's asked. Fun for holding down the trigger and getting 6 kills in a half second. It's happened three times already.

 

I literally have 128 kills, 1.38 Kills/Minute with 103.82% accuracy for my USAS-12 right now.

 

Something feels off about this lol. Especially when I go 9-0 in the first 2 minutes of Operation Metro with 1.8 Shotgun sprees without so much as being seen...

I'm sure it is. I haven't been on, but there is always a gun that is OP and will be used by everyone. BC2's gun was the M-60...that thing was a beast.

The game isn't overrun by people using it. It only unlocks at level ~44 anyway so not many people will have it. Also, it's still not very effective at medium to long range.

I don't like it. It goes into hover mode too easily (like when slowing down for a tight turn) which has messed me up before. I think having hover mode (VTOL or whatever it is) activated by a button or stick push instead of automatically would be better as it would mean it wouldn't switch on and screw up your banking turns. Might need to be balanced out though. Not that I fly the F-35 (or any jet, really) very much anymore.
