Yeah. My xbox is 4 years old, so I kind of expected this.

In BF3 you can use jets, tanks, choppers, mortars, sniper rifles, etc. Add to that the fact that MW3 maps are almost universally tiny and BF3 maps are generally very large, and you end up using a lot more strategy and thinking than just reflexes. It also matters more what guns you use, since in MW3 everything kills in under a second (I checked the official gun data). Under a second. I doubt anything but a sniper with a straight pull or a powerful rifle with a headshot could do that, but in MW3, a second to kill is a long time.

Just saying, I have yet to see anyone kill anything with a jet. Also sniper rifles, choppers, and mortars seem quite difficult to use well.

I have been killed in under a second quite a few times because of folks who sneak up on me and loose a few bullets with a PDW or other automated weapon. Unlike BFBC2, there aren't really any buildings I've seen that you can just defend.

Wow, saw is amazing compared to the type 88. There's a little recoil, but it's much more manageable than the t88.

Also, I'm loving the ragdoll effects. Rocketing an enemy into the air with a tank shell is hilarious.

Not sure if it qualifies, or the mechanics behind it, but...

Having a jet your rocket is following dive at a 90 degree angle into the ground, make a little explosion, then your rocket hits and you see a mushroom cloud of fire and plane parts.

I really only use recon for lulz, or to use the MAV to help out. Although even when enemies are spotted and near teammates, they still don't seem to care, or look at their maps. I've gone a round with 11 surveillance ribbons before

IMHO Recons are usually asses.

If you like to sit out a match dicking around, trying for long-distance headshots, and taking all the vehicles for no reason... Well, there isn't really any place you SHOULD be doing that.

Anyways, I DO play Recon, but only using the 870MCS for the sake of leveling it up.

I use recon a lot for the spawn beacon. I love being able to spawn right near the enemy since teammates often can't be relied on for staying alive near the MCOMs.

Same, I use recon as an initial assault shock troop. TGAS/Beacon for position building and holding with a UMP-45 RDS/Foregrip/Laser for loads of kills. Tac 445 pistol obviously. really weak against vehicles though

The recon class can be very useful. But people can make it to be a useless class, i.e those bush wookies on that hillside that are trying to get headshots from ~200m.

On the bright side...

I'm willing to bet that, thanks to those guys, I've gotten farther headshots with 12 gauge slugs than they have with their snipers.

Kinda ironic when the snipers are the easiest to take out.

I agree with you on this, mostly, because I don't end up taking the vehicles because I know people usually use them for the right purpose. Depending where I want to be I just catch a ride with a friend or someone.

On the long-distance part, I do try for long-distance headshots but I can actually pull them off sufficiently enough to keep a game steady. Matter of fact, I just finished a game on caspian border with 6700 points, and 23 kills. All of them were minimum of 250m. It's all in the player, you either get the wannabe CoD-Kid (which I know, I used to be) that constantly wants to be the sniper guy and get the most kills and absolutely wastes time and reinforcements, or you get the guy that can actually snipe and do it right. I'm not trying to blow up my own balloon or anything, but I think I can actually snipe. I'd love to party up with you guys and play sometime, because I usually only play with one other friend. Let me know, my gamertag is Siing

I got the M1014 early tonight, so I slapped it on my recon for shits and giggles. Best decision of my life, my first 4 rounds I went with 24+ kills and under 8 deaths in all of them. I had no idea I loved shot guns this much [plus the ability to spawn behind enemy lines helps a TON]

You guys make it seem like recons going for headshots is a bad thing... The hit consistency of snipers is so bad that you pretty much HAVE to go for headshots to get a kill, even on hardcore, and especially on normal. The lens glare pisses me off tbh. Yea, it was made to counter-balance going prone, but even then recons are REALLY FREAKING OBVIOUS. We should have an attachment to rub dirt on the lens to dull the glare. <_<

And yea snipers are the easiest to take out... They're usually just sitting there, not looking in your direction most of the time. I'll bet if you total up EVERY RECON DEATH since the game launched, the majority of them would be from snipers.

I really miss BC2's style of sniping :-(

I hate how you have to hold your breath CoD style when sniping. It really messes up my aim most of the time.

I didn't find that out until yesterday. <_<

Also, how the hell are you supposed to get a kill in a jet? I can never seem to get any targets, and when I do I fail at hitting them.

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

Snipers - That's what you get from a more realistic game. If it was real life the sway would be even more pronounced. You're lucky they don't make you pay attention to your heartbeat

Jets - You have to balance use of the brakes and throttle. And a lot of practice. They are just very difficult to use.

What's up with all the suicidal jets? I more often then not just see jets run straight into helicopters to get kills

Flying straight into other vehicles doesnt get you kills though.

Something odd happened earlier today. I was flying my jet a bit too low and crashed into some trees at full speed on Caspian Border. I jumped out and I saw my jet standing on the ground completely intact and you can still get into it. lol

Strafing enemy helicopters with the gun is an alright way of getting points/kills. Start your run quite far back as you close in on them really quickly. Other than that, dogfighting with other jets is the only other way I've managed to get a few kills. I haven't seen them used too effectively against targets on the ground at all but that would change when more people unlock the rocket pod, I suppose.

Yeah that usually happens. It's quite a helpful glitch sometimes, provided that you can get the jet back up in the air again.

Reverse donut in the jeep is the best way, no the only way, to cap flags.

pretty sure I've only ever used the jeeps to transport me long distances. I cap flags on foot like a boss
