mattio666
I've been monitoring the price of a SGS since i reached the 70M plateau. Now i'm wondering if it's worth the money to get.
Jadinko
Only if you dont need an ags, but need a godsword. otherwise spend the 70m on a uni. Miseryism | Completionist
aglips
I think it is. I still slay a lot and with the HP/prayer healing specials, i have not had to use a bunyip or unicorn in some of my tasks. And it is a very accurate wep and deals a lot of damage.
zotto
Depends on what you like to do. Slayer...then yes.
Ermy
You could always get an enhanced excalibur and use the 70 mil on skills. Those with a little bit of knowledge are more dangerous than those with none.
Guthorm
I cannot play the game without it, I tried to sell it and buy 95 prayer but after two days without SGS, I have to drastically change my play style. It is worth every cent to me. [Guild Wars 2-In game screenshot, the MMORPG you are waiting for. Click for thread.
Aslan
I've had it since it was 50m or so.After I bought it, I had 17k left.Well, atleast to me it is worth the money. It helps a lot with slayer.I mostly use a combat familiar due to it and guthans. It is also very good for monster hunting/barrows/any activity that involves staying in the same place for a longer period of time.
Codguy
I loved owning my SGS, back when I had it. I eventually sold it in order to buy my partyhat. But, if you love Slayer and Monster Hunting, then I'd say go for it. You can always sell it back later if you need the money, or would prefer to do something else than owning a SGS. If it weren't for the fact that I'm saving up my money right now, I would definitely buy another SGS :( Stupid maxing out requires lots of money. SanNo1
I love my SGS. Like Gromhell, I sold it once but bought it back after a few days because you'll really miss it. If you can afford it and have a decent cashpile left on the side, it is definately worth, because you can always sell it again when you need the money, as is the case with almost all equipment. There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.
D Jay99
I had one, only used it for rock lobs and waterfiends/wyverns so sold it. Didn't miss it until I started monsterhunting, now saving up to rebuy it almost solely for tormented demons. It's not as good as it's made out to be, but sure nice to have. Mischlings
I think it's worth it, like others here. I use it almost all the time for slayer (no need for any other healing on a lot of tasks and each spec is a decent amount of prayer points, which adds up when using piety) and it's also very useful for TDs and barrows. Really, I see so many uses for it that I can't justify selling it soon. If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature. EU Slayer
My SGS Is worth every penny I used to buy it, I savedso much food /bunyip pouches on certian slayer tasks, it'll probably Pay for it's self in the long run...very long run :P I don't know which mod did this. I don't know why they did it. If they're looking for money, I can tell them I don't have any as I'm a student. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over 4 years of RuneScape. Skills that I have worked hard for and people like them can't take them away. If they give me my particles back now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for them, I will not pursue them. But if they don't, I will look for them, I will find them, and they won't like what'll happen
Sir_Squab
I just got my SGS, and I have to say, it's better then I thought it would be. Although I kinda miss the small cash pile I had before it, it's worth the SGS. I'll make back my cash pile soon enough. (Cash pile being 14m, used that and a claw drop O.O and bgs to get it.) Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.[spoiler=The rest of my sig. ilovecuttingyews
When I first got p2p back a friend of mine borrowed me his as a novelty for a few days. I got absolutely hooked. It is VERY usefull for slayer tasks. After the initial slaying I started back up on skilling so I haven't slayed in a while but I just bought a SGS last night and I plan on using it on most tasks that I can. My DFS may feel a bit lonely, but maybe I'll pull him out for a few tasks here and there. PS -> I paid 73,000,001 GP for it and got it over night. stonewall337
Well, I don't think so for me, but if you slay a lot, then get it. I just use EE, and even in prossy, I don't need extra healing besides 'yip. I prefer AGS. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. i_D_r
For my play-style, the only utility where it is a must is TDs. If you slay, just use EE/whip for the most part. The restored prayer (bout 1 ppot a task, depends) isn't worth 70m. But out of all the godswords, it is my favorite. AGS sucks for the most part. Jaded
I've tried every godsword, nothing beats SGS. I am currently going for Slayer Cape and SGS + Bunyip makes slaying so efficient. When you're not using it just lend it out for extra cash or to burn off junk. I sold it (for more than I bought) and I had to buy it back just because I hated having to restock during a task :) This really gets down to the morals of cheating versus the morals of being forced to throw away your life [1000's of hours] to access content you enjoyIsn't life about throwing away your life (a job) to access content you enjoy? JoeDaStudd
SGS is better for most bosses then most people will tell you.All GWD apart from arma its a nice solid weapon and special helps so much its stupid. I can use piety all bandos and zammy kills with void and all sara with veracs. You can pretty much live off the SGS spec alone.DK's well I love SGS+Balsung for hybriding (uni+SGS with veracs and I get over healed) and maging having 5+ extra prayer potions every so often helps cut down on scrolls.TD's will I was there last night and double 40+ sgs specs over healed me as well as massively reduced my prayer usage.Bork (boss of sorts) 2 SGS specs will give you enough prayer so you never need prayer potions even at 70 prayer. Sevestia
SGS is worth every penny, in my opinion. Incredibly useful for Slayer, and it gets me a few extra kills at TDs, etc. I wouldn't be able to sell it without needing to buy it back again, that's for sure. Really depends what you'll be doing though, and if you have the money (and some left over for general stuff), why not? [hide][/hide]
